Great pick up Jerry. That's going to be so comfortable on the wrist. Good work on the AP shot as well. I like!

I was told by my cousin's aunt that a sales associate should be professional and attend to each and every customer regardless of his dressing/outlook. She was a sales associate for Mercedes/Maybach as well as Italian high fashion house. She has had some bizarre walk-in customers who dressed filthily (well, maybe sloppy, cheap and dainty?) and ended up getting high sales from such person. Yup, I'm with you on giving your business elsewhere. But I may just go a little further and drop a nice email to the brand main HQ about the lack of respect/service from the said boutique/staff. For me, I have this mentality "look I am a potential customer. You may be working for SO-n-SO brand. But you are WORKING for them. You may not even own or could afford the items you're helping to sell. So leave your attitude at home or leave this job". Rant over. |

I have tried the dress sense theory out before myself going into Louis Vuitton wearing a Rolling Stones Voo Doo lounge t-shirt. The security guards on the door didn't take there eyes off me thinking I was going to pinch something. Never the less I was able to purchase something with a decent experience. My Parents are very eccentric and are one of those people your aunt has encountered. One funny story was my Father was on his way back from his farm and stopped into a car dealership. Subsequently covered in cow poo he proceeded to order 40 fleet cars and an AMG for himself. great stuff. I don't really know why, but he has some lovely cars in in garage but choose to drive a Transit Van to work every day (just to clarify he worked in corporate and wore a suit everyday not a tradie. so pretty funny) Such and eccentric man. I love it. Another story of a boutique which I will name, Watches of Switzerland, it was closing time of nearly 5pm and I knocked on the glass door. The young girl behind the glass gave me the rude finger and turned around. I was quite upset at her conduct as I was actually looking to purchase a group buy of Rolexs for me and my friends. I was only 19 at the time and didn't have the confidence to do anything about it. She must have been having a really bad day to do that to someone. Also got treated poorly recently when enquiring about an expensive Rolex (used watch gallery not a boutique) literally didn't even look at me when I asked about it. Anyway had to buy it in the end as the price was too good. Being young might be the biggest problem but we all know there are young people who buy Maybach's etc. Now my rant is over. Now Ill lighten the mood |

I find dealers more often than not are rubbish. Also in most cases they know far less about the product than we do. At weekends I will typically be very scruffy and in shorts and hide whatever I am wearing behind my back. If they are courteous and professional I will take a note to give them some business. Either on the spot or later. If they aren't then I take my business elsewhere.

I never have much luck (no matter the brand--has nothing to do with RM) with many Boutiques or AD's. It's 100% hit or miss (especially on the phone). When you're buying a $100k+ watch one would expect the world--but don't. Like anything you need to call around and mentioned by others, the good ones are the ones to do business with, the others leave behind--it's simple. Frustrating but happens with luxury cars, boats, watches, etc. I wear shorts and flip flops and could careless what they think (but that's the lifestyle here in Austin). The good news is once you have a great relationship with a AD/Boutique, of any brand, it's much easier moving forward. It's all a game we play at the beginning. Silly? Of course, but part of the luxury BS everyone has to go through...sad I agree. With RM they have very few AD's or Boutiques, so it magnifies this situation. Keep the hunt going and you may need to expand the countries you are looking into. |

Dear RM owners, I have a question, how much does a RM replacement rubber band cost? Not including the buckle, just the rubber band, thanks for any help.
