I am ok with the size of 40mm Rolex watches so it's a difficult decision to go for small or normal.
If you’re happy with 40mm Rolex, go for normal, especially as it is so much thinner.

Does anyone on here own both the VC 4500v and Antarctique? Any insights into how they compare in terms of fit on wrist, finishing, etc?

Any owner of Antartique with small wrist? What is the lug to lug? Thanks
have they actually announced the smaller size anywhere?? I've been eagerly awaiting this but haven't seen it anywhere.

FWIW, my wrist is about 6.75" and I found the regular size a bit large for my liking. But I also prefer a 37mm royal oak and err on the side of smaller watches generally so YMMV.

I'll be able to answer this in a month or two. Just took delivery of a 4500v silver dial and I have a Monochrome Antarctique on the way.

It has not been 'officially' announced yet, but my understanding is that it will be at Watches and Wonders. That being said, you can reach out to Czapek directly regarding the 38.5mm variant and I believe they are accepting orders.

I'll be eager to hear your thoughts! I have a blue 4500v and ordered a Glacier Blue Antarctique, but that is still 6-9 months away.

I'm pretty sure they're going to be different enough to justify and enjoy both. Funny that I'll have 2 light dials and you'll have 2 blues. If we get bored we can trade Antarctiques, haha.

Yeah and by March all the orders will be spoken for…. so get in now if you want one. I put a deposit on glacier blue and am looking forward to receiving later this year. 9 months in the watch world these days ain’t bad.

It’s a lot of watch for 22k especially when you see color dial OP’s trading at absolute bonkers prices.

Does anyone know what the difference between a “DI” and a “non-DI” version of the Antarctique is? Cannot find it on czapek.com. Thanks!

As far as I know, DI means the II instead of 12 on the dial

Loving the photos of all the great references on this thread!

Question for Antarctique owners. Does the date change instantaneously or is it a gradual transition?

That’s all we need is people seeing a secondary price > retail price and the flippers / speculators will flock.

Like a coin. 2 sides, If I appreciate appreciation then the price goes up. I like this scenario way better than depreciation right from the start.

I only hope most of those who buy Antarctiques are in it for the long haul and pay attention too to the other beautiful watches the company makes. The amount of effort and passion that is evident in the designs, and the goodwill that the company extends to its customers, is peerless.

I’d hate to see it become yet another target for cynics.

I never minded a bit of loss in currency from first use to many years later, plus a factory service just before resale so it was factory fresh and with a warranty for the next owner. Always felt great knowing the next owner got her in top condition.

The rewards of wearing them are 'worth it'.

Looking fwd to my first Czapek, plus five straps and the bracelet. You know I'll be having fun wearing that beauty

PS: If you'd be interested in buying an ORANGE RUBBER strap please let them know!!!

I agree. It's a challenge for any company that can sell more than they can make. Czapek is fundamentally a company comprised of true watch lovers that want to deliver something unique and wonderful to their customers. I'm glad that so far, they are directing their resources towards making the pieces their customers want, rather than limiting production of the entry line to push customers towards other offerings. It would be a tragedy, in my opinion, for them to go down the AP CODE road. If they spend a year just making the references that people want, I think it's great. I don't need yet another of my watches to cost twice as much to replace as I'd purchased it for in the event of loss/theft.

On that note I stopped into the FPJ boutique to check it out, put some faces to names, and inquire about servicing my CS. It was great! Got to try on a couple pieces, see some other wonders, check out straps, and talk about other watch brands. I was wearing my Passage de Drake and it was my pleasure to chat with the advisor about this exciting up and coming independent and have him try it on for a bit. Czapek is definitely generating buzz out there.

5 straps?!? That's awesome. What did you pick to go with your Monochrome? I'm debating getting the maroon leather strap for mine.
