There will be no line in 3 months' time according to the gurus here. We can get any watch we want at MSRP or below then, including those lovely Pateks, just like the old days. Happy are those who save up for times like that. Bookmark your calendar

It won't go back to normal in 3 months, too many people highly invested and too big a market to simply flick a light switch. It'll be back to normal towards the end of next year.

Yes the dealers will offer less right now, as they need to charge less on the retail side going forward. |

MODA isn’t really wholesale…it’s just a network where dealers sell on Facebook. No different than buying and selling on here. Just need to know how to buy and sell. Guys like David SW are just able to command the premium price because of established history, brick and mortar and a real website / app.

I’ll answer. Normal is when you can get a watch for MSRP from your AD within 6 months, other than SS Daytona. Grey price is +/-10% of MSRP depending on the watch. So if you want a GMT now, you pay 10% over MSRP. I might even stretch it to 20%. Not more. Thanks!

What about Rolex discontinued models? What kind of premium would be acceptable for them?

You are basically talking about the vintage market at that point and the price is set by the seller/market based on condition, rarity, age, originality of parts, model, etc. This is how vintage works, precisely because there are no new watches being produced, so there is a finite supply of watches, esp. the more you specify what you want. If you want a GMT 1675 small arrow, unpolished, etc., that will be very different from a 16710 polished. That is not the same as cookie cutter ceramic models that basically all look the same, have been produced in, say, the last 5 years, and are coming off the assembly line looking pretty much the same today as they did 5 years ago.

Increase of listings and many sellers willing to entertain BRO(Best reasonable offer). Perhaps it’s a dash to the exits.

A capitalistic model is not normal when a brand is beeing cut out of most of the profit. I would argue that normal is when you can purchase an item from a brand, at their asking price.

Probably similar type of situation, but maybe with less variability of pricing and maybe less extreme drift from original MSRP depending on how recently discontinued. In recent discontinued cases, last MSRP can serve as a decent reference point, and condition will not vary as wildly since examples have not had such long lives, as many services, etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

How can you say no one will answer? I have answered you before, and I will answer you again here. Final model MSRP before discontinuation for the neovintage example. For current production, current MSRP.
