As many others on this thread have pointed out, context is key.

I originally had my own set of reservations on whether I should wear my watches to work, but after carefully testing the water here and realizing that no one at work actually cares about what others wear, I always wear my Daytona to work.

My boss doesn't like anything on his hands or wrists, no wedding ring, nothing. I wear what I want, Rolex, Panerai, whatever. No one knows what they are and no one much cares in my workplace.

how about you guys?
Are you kidding me!!!!????

Stuff your Boss!!! - enjoy your Sub and wear it wherever and whenever you want.

You worked hard to earn it so you should enjoy it as often as possible

If he doesn't like the fact that your Rolex is better than his Tag that's his problem not yours.

I bought my first Rolex, an EXPII, in 1988, when I was a new Air Force officer and aviator. Several of the guys in the squadron wore GMT's and Subs, and I wanted something similar, but different. The EXPII fit the bill. Over a 23 year career I acquired a SS Daytona and several GMT's and I was never without one of them on my wrist. The other flyers that wore tool/sport watches took notice and were appreciative of what like minded guys wore, the rest of them were too busy with young families and minivans to care. I don't ever remember hearing a negative comment about one of my watches. I do remember many times someone asking to take a look at it and saying something positive. Maybe it was just the environment of military aviation?

Now that I'm retired, I still wear one of them every day at work (again in a military environment), usually in jeans and a t-shirt. It almost sounds weird, but having that weight on my left wrist every day for almost 30 years is a very comforting feeling. I truly don't feel right without it. My watches have accompanied me around the world, in and out of war zones, throughout relationships and other adventures. One of them was on my wrist for every day of work, every adventure and every story I have for the past 29 years.

My watches are a part of who I am and my outlook on life - you darn right I wear one to work every day!

That EXPII I bought in 1988? It's on my wrist now. :)

I agree. Firstly, some people make more than their boss, especially in the medical field. Secondly, no good leader says "that's a great employee but no need to promote them because they wear a Rolex." If anything it would be the opposite. "This guy/gal is really good and we have to pay to keep them around."

I haven't had any comments either since I started wearing my DJ everywhere. My wife isn't a watch person and when I first got it said it looks like any other watch.

Awesome. I'm also in the Air Force, and bought my 16570 Polar Exp II purely to wear to work. Slim design, bulletproof movement and handy GMT complication (use it every day given my work times are in Zulu) made it a perfect choice!

I only hope I still have mine in 20 years!

No I don't. I work in cell blocks and although not many would even notice the Sub it doesn't feel right and it's nice to leave workwear at work.

Work is a G Shock.
