Just went through the entire 25 page thread and all I can say is, Wow. Many, many great pictures and stories shared about the Daytona.

I am not a member anymore, but do plan to add either a YG or RG version in the future. A visit was paid to my AD yesterday and I tried on a couple of RG references, one of them being the RG model on a strap (thanks Neil and Ken) and was pleasantly surprised by it. My AD did not have any of the YG models with the dial combinations that interests me, so no YG shots.

Apologies for the poor quality pictures.

Looking good...Tough choice! I still go back and forth between the RG with pink dial on strap and black dial champagne sub dial YG one on bracelet. Really no bad choices here as they are all nice just different.

Thanks Ken.

I was hoping my AD would have had other dial combos for the RG, but these two were the only ones they had. The one you posted was gorgeous!

Anyone know why an early 1990s Daytona 16518 is NOT listed in the Rolex price list of that time (just the solid gold, two tone and SS, not the strap 18K...)???

Forgive the ignorance but why do some people prefer the movement of the modified Rolex El Primero Zenith( 4030)over the newer Rolex In House( 4130)? What is so special about the Rolex modified El Primero Zenith( 4030) movement that some people prefer it?
Thanks.

Thanks.
There are no advantages to the movement itself, some people prefer the Zenith movement because they think the watches will appreciate more now that they're no longer made, others are in the "older is better" camp, etc. You won't find too many people saying they prefer the older model's movement, but they might prefer the visual differences, such as the black subdial rings.
