This model and/or discontinued colors don’t do anything for me (movement, complication, historically, etc). If a collector is seeking exclusivity and an OP in a certain color helps define their style of collecting, or is what they like to see on the wrist, go for it. It’s a lot of money to pay for what this watch is.

Correct me if I’m wrong, the aquanaut isn’t a base model trading for 80-100k with a 20 year life? Base model argument across the board ended a long long time ago.

Yellow and red should've been higher considering they're fully discontinued

Yeah. No. Every celebrity and influencer I've seen, with the photos I have shared, have all been OP 41 turquoise Tiffany , not 36 certainly not 31.

But like I said before, I am surprised that the yellow and red are literally only half the price in the market.

OP it’s nothing special no matter what color. Total entry level 3 hander. Anything over 10k is bonkers to me but then again that’s just me.

YMMV.

Most importantly....

Owners can now go to try clothes on and when the assistant asks what your watch is, you can say 'its a discontinued Rolex'.

Box and papers Bro!!

Word on the street is coral red is rarer than Tiffany, and yellow even rarer still. Quality control passed thru less of these colors.

What do you think about all those plain 6 figure 3 handers?

What do you think about the multi complications from other brands that sell 1/4th their retail number of complication do not drive or dictate the market price my dear.

I love that kid in that story... So wholesome. Nice to have new generation into it, and aspired to own, even if they are just making lower wages selling some cloths.

UPDATE: NOW 60k OP 41 Tiffany/Turquoise

So, it's now April 2022, about 1.5 years from the Sept 2020 release of the fun and exciting OP 41 Stella-like colorful dials.

In THE shortest run of any Rolex in the modern era, the turquoise OP 41 has been discontinued and it's no surprise that the market has gone crazy over this piece.

My initial December 2021 thread about this reference marked a market estimate at 35k. As crazy as those prices were then, 6x retail, In the matter over only a few months, the watch has almost nearly DOUBLED, now about 10x!!

Prices since it's discontinuation have shot way, way up, and they continue to rise.

The watch unworn partially stickered from a trusted Source is $60,000.00 USD.

The less coveted and desirable yellow and coral red iterations that have also been discontinued are trading about only half that of the Tiffany 41.

Will it be a k watch in a few years? Who knows, but it sure doesn't seem like it's going to stop climbing up anytime soon.

Who would have thought that a standard, entry level 3 hand OP would jump over the highly desired white dial 116500LN Daytona!

Really curious who is buying at these prices and if it's just dealers trying to flip to other dealers. Such a basic watch but I'm also not a fan of the dial to begin with

You love your Chrono24 price speculation threads!

Trading price was $28K a few days ago. Will it shoot up a bit? Sure. But, C24 is nonsense.

The yellow and red trade about 22 in 36mm and Tiffany about 28 in 36mm.

Yellow and Red 28 to 30k in 41, Tiffany 60k in 41

I know someone that sold one Thursday for 35k. Nobody is paying 60k. Also be careful when buying this watch without the white hang tag. Lots and lots of aftermarket dials in silver and black OPs. These prices will only fuel that. Its a nice watch even at 25k but not more.

I think in a few years time it could be worth less than RRP. Sell to the speculators while you still can. This is an entry level Rolex.

Yes... Actually, I suspect that in a few years time it will be for free. In fact, you may have to pay someone to wear this rare Rolex. Good one

Danny, you know I love you, but remember -- yesterday's price is NOT TODAY'S PRICE!

And respectfully, you responded to my prior OP 41 Tiffany thread, and you were wrong there and I think you're wrong here.

The market is around 60k for this piece, brother.

Bob's just added one BTW used prowned. WITHOUT hand tag for 59k.

Whoever sold it for $35k sold it cheap.

This watch will go $100k+

Ha! Ok. That’s why a friend of mine could get the red and yellow but not the turquoise…
