I would never buy a Rolex with precious stones. Model wise I wouldn't buy the yacht master, GMT master, Sky Dweller, Milgauss or the explorer. Some aren't my taste look wise and others I just have no use for.

Lot's of Air King hate. I wonder if Rolex discontinues it and price spikes (becomes a collector item) if anyone would change their mind :)

Anything with a “bark” bracelet, yellow gold, or precious stones. I’m actually a fan of the Yacht-Master II.

Been said before but I think diamonds on a “Tool watch” seems very strange to me.

Why didn’t purchase the Daytona and just flip it? Put those funds towards a watch you love. Why walk away from free money ($7-8,000)?

First thing that crossed my mind and immediately knew i couldnt do that or even try to pull it off. I never showed interest in one and was more surprised than excited. My AD/Mgr/Friend read my face and knew I wasn't to thrilled over it. That would of ended our relationship. He did say they (him and owner) had a meeting on who to offer it to first. I'm no big VIP but get along with everyone very well, my dad even knows the owners family for years growing up in detroit. Afterwards he got me a Blnr and a one owner 16710 full set that they sold new so I can't complain. In total I bought five new SS from him all with discounts, a few were pretty steep. I always visit, we talk and meet up together as well. Im in the car biz and I'm his go to guy for him and now some of his family members. Believe me, that would have been a bad idea if i took it and didn't keep it. I also know he's not the kind of guy to accept any tips if you know what I mean. He's runs a big franchised store and takes his job seriously.
So taking that tona would of been a big black eye, im not a fan and i make good money other ways, Its all good..I'm sure the next guy was happy,,, hmmmm or maybe flipped it hehee.

  3. And Finally, the air-king, i see not point on this model.
  4. And i will always try to stay away of two tone models (Except a SUB with blue dial)

What about you guys? Please be kind, i know i just a matter of taste, but Rolex owners seems to be passionate about their models.

Waiting for the opinios and the

Thanks!
I would NEVER buy

BLNR (Batman)
Green Sub (Hulk)
Blue DSSD (Cameron)

I find the colors (and nicknames) to be a tad queer...I prefer a Mans Rolex

And no modern Sub with a silly name. Not because of the name, but because they are either too green or too far from my idea of a Rolex Submariner.

I don’t like the Air King or Yachtmaster I.

I like the Milgauss with the green crystal, not a fan of the black or white ones.

Generally prefer watches with a date.

From the current Rolex catalogue, it would be easier to list the watches that I would buy.... PM Daytona, DD40 or at a pinch 40mm YM on oysterflex. Every other current model is either hideous or too big imho. In my dreams a <40mm PM skydweller would have me tempted but I doubt that is possible and can’t imagine anything else coming down the pipe that would appeal in any way.

I dislike the cellini range. Don't get me wrong, they are nice watches but I prefer that style in other brands.

I'm assuming by never-ever that means the buyer would have unlimited funds. With that in mind, don't think I would ever purchase the Air King in its current configuration. The dial just doesn't work and resembles some sort of Bamford frankenwatch. I really don't understand its place in the Rolex lineup when the Explorer I is so similar yet so much better.

DJ II, anything Bark, Cellini, YM/YMII

And I have to change my view regarding "nothing two-tone" ... The 126711CHNR two-tone GMT "Rootbeer" is amazingly beautiful.
