Not sure the fuss about the white tag. Yes it gives the color code but RSC know the colours they were manufactured in, I checked mine before I bought it plus a second one I almost bought (and wish I had now).

Price discovery will happen through sellers and buyers determining real market value. It’s easy to throw around $100k, $200k, and say “this will be the price”, but we only get there by real transactions taking place.

Well let's say theres only a 1.5 year production of these, and so ADS claim they rarely see them. More rare than a Daytona and so on, if the rumours are correct production for these will be in the low thousands.

Plenty of Rolex collectors with money, who just want to have the shortest running Rolex for collection/ collect the set.

Eventually price discovery will happen when supply outstrips demand, eventually at a price point even collectors won't want to pay for them. Only time will tell.

If it becomes a 100-200k range watch theres a lot less buyer than at 20-30k.

Auctions are not always good indicators of the market price. Admittedly, that's because auction prices are actually usually INFLATED/OVER MARKET because people get emotional, they have to pay extra fees, and they have to swing their junk. There are many variables.

Even though the watch sold for $40,000, it was used, and would likely fetch much more if it were brand new on one with some stickers. This is not a watch you want to fork over all that money and buy used.

I still believe that it's a $60,000 watch in this current market, and that auction just simply is not an accurate representation of the market for this watch.

Time will tell… but I’m glad I don’t want or need this one in my collection. It will be fun to see how it plays out in the years to come.

The Yellow and Coral Red 41mm which DavidSW listed for $28k are already gone. I am guessing the next ones he gets will be well above $30k.

Who knows where values will end up. In the end, they are very attractive watches with very short production runs, I don’t see why these should be any less valuable than a GMT or a Daytona. This is true especially for the red and yellow ones which I guess will catch up. The turquoise has had quite the head start already and that hype is dying down now.

But especially as we’re headed into summer, I see a bright future for these.

And as Danny suggested, I would strongly recommend against anyone purchasing this reference without the white serial hand tag. That automatically takes out most of not all of the Asian ADs and many other ADs around the world that retain the hand tag.

Why would they go down? The flat green resembles the 50 year anniversary GMT yellow gold reference that has since been discontinued, and the newly released Day Date 40 green dial! Rolex green dials tend to do well.

But don't buy it just because you think it's going to go up in value. I personally don't like that watch so I was never drawn to it. You should always like to watch first I think, though I'm not trying to tell you how to collect.

No i don’t agree. I believe this will eclipse the daytona ceramics. Daytona’s are
not the top rolex watch now.
