You definitely need to print of the entirety of this thread and put it in a nice little envelope so that someone (perhaps your great grandchildren) can read this story in 2070!
Excellent idea. I will do that, as I plan to pass on all of my Rolexes to kids and sons-in-law.

I am so happy I read this thread. One would have to be a fool to try to scam on here after seeing the swift, mighty response of the Rolex Mafia.

Thank you all for sharing this very interesting, scary, and valuable story. Wow. Having just been taken for 20 grand in another type of scam I sympathize with the frustration of civil vs. criminal action in cases like this. Its very frustrating that people can pull these things off and not go to jail, while our jails are full of people who in my opinion are guilty of far less serious offenses. I'm very thankful to be on this forum with all the valuable resources here.

I'm sad to say that the police officer here who helped me get my watches back, my friend Chad Jutz, killed himself yesterday. Our small town is devastated. Rest in peace, Chad. God's peace for his wife and children.

Here is the story. He leaves behind a wife and four children. God only knows the pain which leads someone to do this.

Awful. Not all that uncommon of a thing for police officers that spend thier career in patrol. As a former police officer I have friends that have gone this route and honestly the thought crossed my mind a few times. The stress of taking crummy depressing radio calls in day in and night out drains you.

God bless him, his family and his fellow officers.

It's amazing. A tragic story about a person I had never met, let alone even heard of, could cause me to feel such emotion.

RIP Officer Jutz. I'm so sorry to hear that you were in such pain that you believed this to be the only solution. I hope you are in a better place and your family is in my thoughts.

This still seems impossible to me. Chad was known for his amiable personality and his ability to get along with people, especially kids. He was the high school liaison officer for several years before becoming an investigator. He was a supremely gifted athlete, and there were occasions where he chased perps on foot nabbing them before the K-9 unit dog could catch up. We'll miss him.
