With the reduced height, I would dare to say that there is an air of finesse. It becomes a lot more wearable. And the rotor feels like it is spinning with more ease than the original one.

Overall, I think this is a real improvement over the original version. As for comments regarding not able to read the exact time. TBH, the original Mad One did not keep good time so it was never accurate anyway

Interesting to hear you think the slim spins better. I’ve read that the new Swiss movement doesn’t spin as good as the Japanese movement of the older versions.

So what’s the deal, is the blue or purple better to your eye

I’ve only had mine for a day, but agree on the time reading. Everything is scheduled at the hour, half, or quarter anyway, so I don’t miss the minutes track. I also love the size. Makes it wear like a regular watch instead of a mechanical hockey puck.

I feel that because when I lift the watches out of the box, the rotors were spinning like MAD already. (no pun intended) That never happen to my other Mad Ones.

From the picture, I originally thought the ice blue looks better but IRL, I prefer the purple.

Definitely this is a lot more wearable and elegant. The originals still hold a special place in my heart but this version is indeed an improvement and not just a "re-spin"

Please let us know your result. I will try to see if I can get some video done this weekend.

BTW, my DHL shipment was stuck at US Custom for a week due to missing declaration form so the Custom were not able to assess for tax. Hope all of you have better luck.

I am not a purple person and with the original press photos, I liked the ice blue better. But in person, the purple is actually a better color. More vibrant and fun.

Mine was pretty smooth, and wasn’t missing any paperwork from the shipper end. I did make sure to send additional info and duties pretty much immediately after getting the requests (there were multiple).
