Buy only what you like. So that means if you don’t have it, that’s means you don’t like or want to spend money on it.l, or you don’t have the funds, or you can get them anyway.

People should buy to enjoy

For me it has to be the following:

1. Daytona - Overpriced for what it is (If you must buy a iconic chronograph then get a Omega Speedmaster Moon Watch)

2. YM II - Not attractive at all

3. Milgauss - I hate the tinted crystal and the odd second hand

4. Explorer I (39mm) - I like the older 36mm size but hate the 39mm current version because I think it is too big for what it is (a field watch)

5. DateJust with the Wimbledon dial - You have Roman numerals with the exception of the crown at 12 and the date at 3 and then all of a sudden you have a stick marker at 9. That is ugly

I don't see myself ever buying an Air King, Yacht Master or Cellini. None of those models appeal to me.

I think every model has some specific references/specs I would never buy, but in terms of overall model:

YM2
YM1
Air King
Cellini
OP

Oyster Perpetual 39.

Great watch but felt too entry level. Sold it to fund a Submariner

milguass - the seconds hand is ridiculous to me.

air king - nothing about this model resonates with me, i find it to be boring.

and, for what it's worth, i doubt i'd ever get an oyster perpetual, unless i was feeling frisky and opted for the grape dial.

Excellent decision. Now you have a watch that looks exactly like pretty much every other $100 watch out there! Except it's less accurate.

New Air King, New Explorer II, and Sky Dweller. All too big. I actually like the YMII even though it's big. But I prefer the regular YM any day.

I won’t buy OP39 (again)... I liked it a lot at first but then the bezel just started hurting my eyes. Flipped it and got a dj41 instead, don’t really need or want the date but the smooth bezel is so much nicer than the one on OP39.

Definitely the YMII for me. Just not something that I’ve ever connected with and the dial/bezel seem way too loud

Sky Dweller. I don't care for the design.

They must all have fans, or Rolex would not make them.
I dislike the Skydweller, YM11 and hulk. No particular reason, I just do. Come to think of it, not too keen on coloured bezels in general. So add the GMT.

Anything that fits one or more of the following descriptions:

Jewels, Gold, TT, Chronograph, bright coloured ceramic bezel, greater than 40mm, is a Professional model with a jubilee, too shiny, YM2, Hulk. I have to sacrifice dignity to buy it.

Wait... that’s every model covered.

Maybe someone who races yachts and is so comfortably off that he/she doesn’t care if it gets damaged in the pursuit. If you can afford to race your own offshore yacht: chances are that YM cost is much less than your annual mooring fee!
