55 when I bought my '04 16710 last September (2019). Still kicking myself for not buying one in the early 90s. Used they were going for $1750. Better late than never.

I was 19 and bought a ss gmt Pepsi for $1000. I sold it a couple of years later for $950 and thought I was so lucky to have broke even and essentially had it for free. I wish I still had it!

Good example of how people trade up to ‘the real thing’ from replicas.

This is what my buddy told me who works for a big luxury brands group.

They don’t mind replicas because people that can never afford their brand aren’t their customers and people that wear replicas and can afford it will ultimately aspire to buying the real thing...

30. Got into watches when I was 25, started with a Seamaster and then went to a Fifty Fathoms. Finally decided to give Rolex a try and got a 114060, now I have 4.

I was fifty-five; that was in 1997 and it was a pre-owned 1675 GMT-Master. Before that I had a quartz Zodiac GMT that looked and functioned like a GMT-Master, and before that I had a Bulova Accutron Astronaut.

23 years old. Got hooked!

46 now. Own four now and have had over 50 in between. All paid for by flipping them.

Go through cars & boats almost as quickly.

15,
16610 sub. Still have it to this day. Gifted by my parents. Don’t worry, still got through med school. Not totally spoiled. Got hooked again this year 2020 with YouTube videos during lockdown. Got the rest of the watches in my sig this year.
