I just called FedEx
If you can prove that the person who received and signed for the 2 watches is not who he is, and that the watches were insured, FedEx will reimburse up to the value insured.
So the question is, did you check to see if the info (name and address) on his bank account matches his shipping info? also, I called the Columbia PD and his address is within their jurisdiction. Good luck Doc. |

Thanks for clearing that up, Joey. You haven't been here very long, but I can tell you are a fine gentleman and I do feel pretty miserable that something like that should happen to a nice guy like you.
Yes, please do all you have in your power and influence to get your watches and money back. I just wish you had contacted one of us for advice before making the move. A simple PM to me and I could have helped you. But, no point in crying over spilt milk now............let's try and remedy the situation. Paul (Welshwatchman) has given you some terrific advice in his post above. Hope that helps. Good luck from my side. Please do keep us updated, Joey. I would really like to know the final outcome. Thanks & best wishes - JJ

According to Realtor.com, 404 Waterville Dr, Columbia SC does exist.
Info: Quote:
Another residence with the address of 401 Waterville is for sale: http://www.realtor.com/realestateand...685?source=web Unfortunately, some of these yahoos lay in wait at empty homes, intercepting the packages when they arrive. This might be the house in question according to the house numbers, this house is across the street from 403 Waterville Dr. No numbers visible, so it can't be confirmed obviously. I wouldn't start egging a house or anything. Good Luck!!!! |

Joeychitwood,
I am so sorry to hear this. I am sure you are just pulling your hair out in anger and frustration. This qualifies for GRAND THEFT......get the authorities involved ASAP. I give you a good quote...just in case you see this guy... “I am the punishment of God...If you had not committed great sins, God would not have sent a punishment like me upon you.” Genghis Khan |

Thank you all so very much for the advice, kind words and assistance. Upon the very good advice of a very knowledgeable TRF member, I won't be posting any more details of my current efforts to make this right, but suffice it to say that I am leaving no stone unturned.

For everyone's benefit in the future, I called FedEx. Their position is that they deliver to an address, not a person. They don't care if Pee Wee Herman answers the door and signs for the package, and there is no recourse due a sender if the package is indeed delivered to a requested address. Insurance covers only damage or loss in transit.

Joey I'm really sorry for what has happened to you.
It looks like someone on TRF should be close enough to Columbia, Sc, to at least have the Police accompany them to the house and inquire about the person, and the property. They could be dead inside the house. Who knows what the real story is at this point? Joey please keep us informed as to what the local PD is doing to help you. If in fact it turns out that this guy has ripped you off I truly hope that all of the disease's known to mankind attack him in unison. Good luck on getting a favorable resolve to your situation.

If any of you happen to find this Submariner on ebay during your fake-hunting, it's one of two watches I sent away:

That one won't go far on eBay. I can't imagine the guy being stupid enough to try to move these watches on eBay, but who knows. Make sure you check Craig's List as well. I hope Karma gets ahold of this putz and takes care of him. I swear, it takes a true POS to do this to someone. |

I still would like to know what the response has been from Columbia, PD?
It shouldn't take more than a couple of hours to get an officer over to the house to question the perp.

Late to the thread- can't believe that I missed this one. I have knots in my stomach just reading this.
Good luck on this. I know a good tar and feather supplier if this loser gets caught. |

I have read this whole thread and it has, indeed, made me feel sick. Scammers are the worst people I know! I wish you all the luck and hope you retrieve your belongings.
