YIKES - a $10K watch on your wrist and you still have to write the date with a pen on your wrist?

I could do that for FREE - don't wear a watch - just write the DATE!!

.. and plenty of guesses going around..

I thought we would start our own "Guess" Thread, and see how close we are.

Put down what you expect to see, or even hope to see, and let's find out how good a guesser you are !!

Here is what I expect.

1. A SS Sub Ceramic, of course.
2. Upgraded clasp and bracelet on the Yachtmaster
3. Upgraded Clasp and bracelet on the Explorer II
4. More dial options on the DateJust II
upgraded clasp on YM and ExpII? - you are a dreamer, dial options on DJ2 already occured last year, too new. 25% on these, spot on w the SS Sub-C - future best selling SS of all time Old Sport. Print out my post.

My wife spoke to a 'Sales Division Manager' at Rolex HQ (UK) a few days ago.

He was very helpful albeit very 'tight lipped' although he did leave my wife with the impression that as the DJII was selling so well, he didn't think there would be any changes to the DJII line up.

Incidentally I had a letter from Rolex (UK) back in November which reads (& I quote).....

"Regarding updating of models in the future, almost the entire Oyster range has been remodelled and improved since 2000, including the gold Submariner in 2008 and the Rolesor Submariner in 2009. As yet unchanged remain the steel Submariner models and indeed the Explorers.

At the time of writing we are unable to confirm which models might next be updated. However, it is safe to assume that those watches not recently changed might soon be earmarked for attention."

Don't give much away do they?!?

A 48mm Sub-Date

A 48mm Sub-Date will be nice as DSSD 43mm is still too small for me.
I actually prefer 55mm and above.

A titanium, forged carbon or 100% ceramic case, bezel, crown & links will be good as well.

Thats true. All they have to do is update the steel sub and Rolex will steal the show.

My guess is that they will offer NATO straps for every available watch in the Rolex line.. just to make the ex-ceo angry.

I'm betting the farm on a ceramic SS Sub. Of course that's a pretty safe bet. I'd love to see a ceramic Pepsi GMT, but that's a crap shoot. It would certainly cause quite a stir if (or when) they make it. And if they do, we won't see a SS model for a year or two after a gold one is released. A ceramic Pepsi could very well be one of the most stunning Rolexes ever made.

Hmm, what I'd like to see personally is for the Air King to increase from the too-small 34mm to somewhere around 38-40mm and for more dial options on the 116000.

But I'm likely in the minority for people who actually care about those watches!

I'd like to see that too

But before it happens Rolex would have to drink some strong liquor out of the Panerai drinking fountain.

A SS Sub Ceramic ( Blue ) Bezel & Dial with a ( Matt ) bracelet..
..To be different than the All White Gold model that has a polished center bracelet.

If Rolex makes this combination, I will immediatly buy it !!

I am so glad I read this thread. I was under the impression that the current model SS Sub had a ceramic bezel. Was all set to pick one up. Here's to hoping it's announced at Basel 2010.

/shrug.

Updated ss sub. New dial/bevel combos on the dj2. And some updates to models I could never afford anyway.

It has always been Rolex's intention to streamline manufacture, note the discontinuation of the GMT1's.
if streamlining is the main aim then finishing the green bezel sub would be on the cards, a ceramic green bezel for only one watch??
Explorer 2 in white and black, try black only.
Explorer 1 is looking a small case in the range.
introduction of the full diamond bezel datejust can only mean introduction of a full diamond bezel ladies datejust.
can't wait!!

All this needing a date stuff puzzles me.

Cars tell you the date.
Your PC tells you the date
Your Phone tells you the date
Every newpaper tells you the date

Not having it on a watch isnt important, and the Daytona is so iconic..surely they wouldnt ruin it by putting a date on it.

Just my opinion.....

SS Submariner with Green ceramic bezel.

So far they've been able produce black, blue and green.

Now we all know a SS green ceramic Sub would dominate the market and create a million first time Rolex owners.

I'm sure most of you already know this, but I was at an AD this weekend and he told me that some dealers were already starting to get shipments of the new ceramic subs. I was surprised to hear that, but he's usually pretty reliable.
