It has a "belt drive transmission" so I guess the vehicle analogy is pretty accurate.

That Monaco V4 is interesting. Linear winding weight, belt drives, only $1.2 MILLION if you want one. Here's the video:

This was my dream watch :

until I saw this pic posted in these forums :

I pulled the trigger on it in November.

I would love to own the daytona also but can't justify the spend.

Now if I came across one of these at a 'sensible' price though ...

When Tag announced the V4 about 2 years ago I received an e-mail from them as I am registered with them for updates and they had a live e-mail forum with the president of the company or somebody very high up.
I asked the question if and when it was in production approximately how much would it cost and the reply was 10 - 12,000 euros and it would only be available in white and yellow gold to start with, which is a little lest than $1.2 million now that's what I call inflation

The stores in NYC are saying how this is very hard to come by and asking me to pay 22k for it, yet I saw this at several ADs already. I tried one on yesterday, its nice.

They won't budge from the MSRP, then again I suspect these being NYC stores they want to keep one in showcase, so its value of stopping foot traffic > selling that particular piece.

You can probably get one for 17-8k'ish if you push hard enough at an AD, the TT sells for halve.

Mine was less than $17k (adjusted for UK pounds) brand new.
