Here are two photos of the bag, the first immediately after recovery and the second some time later for the exhibition. I recovered a lot of significant artifacts, but this is one of my favorite stories.

Here are few I put together from my father’s dive trips. Full of pictures. Not as cool as the Titanic though.

I have read the stories in these links before. Your father was a fascinating man.

As the senior members of this forum already know, I have retired my original Sub at my son's request. He wants his Dad's watch, preferably in one piece. I replaced it with the SD as my daily beater in early 2005, but I regularly wear all of my Rolex watches.

Here I am on a Titanic dive in 2005 wearing two watches because I had to time the tapes in two cameras and MEL simultaneously. I'm not one of those guys that worries about getting scratches on the bracelet. I think those threads are kind of silly.

This is my Sea-Dweller. On May 1, 2010, it went scuba diving with a bunch of lawyers (in gray), explorers and astronauts (in black & blue). It kept perfect time. End of story.

Now now, we shouldn't be casting aspersions at lawyers. Some, (like me) are public servants trying to do go for the people.

HA! I entered that number and it's the auction I won.

I got it for the minimum bid plus shipping.

It arrived today. It has a couple of small smudges on the cover, but otherwise it's like new.

That's not the first thing I've bought from ebay, but it's the first actual auction I've won. Of course, with no competition it was a breeze.

It was pro bono shark work that got me to the Titanic the first time.

And the payment was to dive on the Titanic? Must have been some pro bono job!

This was the paying work:

http://www.explorerconsulting.com/im...003Titanic.pdf

This was the unpaid work:

http://www.davidconcannon.com/images...TS_Titanic.pdf

I got the job because I had beaten the company in litigation, which I had done on a pro bono basis, and then my former opponent hired me. I was well paid for the Titanic dives, but my ex-wife spent all the money.

Amazing pictures there subfiend. You all seem very composed in amongst those sharks!

This was taken with a Canon 5D (not mine).

We had the Titanic artifacts show at the Ga. Aquarium not long ago, it was really cool! The odd thing was that there was a story in the news that the relics are haunted, and staff at the Ga. Aquarium said that strange/odd things did happen while the show was there, (strange voices when everyone was gone, shadows, etc.) but stopped when the show moved on to it's next location. Pretty cool as well.

I am glad you are trying to do "go" for the people, but come on, it was a harmless lawyer joke! Lighten up!

My only story is my dive instructor had a 18K solid Sub Date, and as we were diving in the Keys on a night dive to catch some lobsters, I guess one spring bar broke, and his beloved Sub sank to the bottom. We searched vainly for it, bit as it was dark, it was hopeless. So, if you are diving in the Keys, there is a solid 18K Subbie waiting somewhere for you! He was REALLY upset! I never asked if it was insured, I hope it was. Also, if you have not dived in the Keys lately, it is sad to see the loss of coral, and the debris all around. Abandoned anchors, netting, cans, and lots of discarded fishing line. Made me sad.

I think the Keys are more haunted than the Titanic artifacts. I had a screw back out of the band on my TT Blue Sub during a dive in Key Largo in April. The watch fell off my wrist when I was back in the car.

Actually, you see a lot of abandoned anchor chain, netting, beer cans and discarded line at the Titanic site. There is a whole pile of it off to the side of the stern section to the east. Now THAT'S depressing.

Actually not good at all, sharks perform a needed function in the food chain. There are very few sharks that attack humans, and great whites, the greatest predator of the seas are almost endangered, and the Asians cutting off fins for soup is further hurting the shark population. Sharks are not bad, humans killing them off with gill nets and other ways are not good for the ecosystem. Every animal is important, except for mosquitos, rats, and cockroaches!
