Unless the OP is thinking of finding a brand new or LNIB 16600, I would suggest a 16660.
The 16660 is nearly identical, relatively rare, and vintage (IMO). Can be had in matte or gloss configuration. You're guaranteed lug holes, and it has an open date wheel with a more vintage font. (joy!) Matte: Gloss: |

I went through this exact same decision/struggle. In the end, the usefulness of the second time zone won out over the SD...but it was a tough decision. If it had not been for the increased functionality of the GMT, I would have gone with the SD.

Definitely the classic Sea Dweller for me. As for the GMTs two time zones, they aren't as useful as one might think. When we travel between different time zones, we really pretty much know the difference between one and the other, don't we? I feel I do anyway.

Well, I haven't been around here long enough to know much about anything, but I do know that I've owned a 16753 GMT Master since 1983 and a 'F' Seadweller since 2006... if I had to make a choice between the two, my choice would have to be the SD.
All the best, Rob |

Chances are you won't be happy until you've got both. If that's not an option right now then I think I'd go for the SD. The GMT IIc will be much easier to pick up later.

It has to be the Seadweller 116660. My first ever Rolex and I absolutely love it. As has been said a true tool of a watch and surprisingly comfortable too

I have the GMT and love it. I also like the seadweller. I have heard some complain about the case back though.

I bought the GMT II c with the belief it was all I needed. 5 watches later and I clearly have the bug.
I have both the SD and the GMT - which is better I cannot say. If you are unsure which one to get then check them both out side by side and pick the right one; you will be buying the other one soon enough. |

I vote for the GMT IIc. It's new and it's unique, plus added function of different time zone. SD is old model and boring but a very well made watch. If you decide on a SD, get the Deepsea. My 2c.

Again, these questions are too simplistic. You need to take into consideration how the watch will be used, what other pieces you have in the collection, job & lifestyle, hobbies etc.
If I could only chose ONE watch, it wouldn't be either of those but rather the new Sub-C, simply because I think the maxi-dial looks great and it has much better lume, which is very important to me. Out of the two choice you gave, I would pick the SD (own one) because somehow I find the crown too small and out of proportion on the older GMTs and ExpIIs (picky, I know). Good luck! |

My choice would be to go with the GMT(I have a Pepsi) as that's my favorite watch. There's nothing wrong with a SeaDweller and I will eventually have one of those as well.....

No contest. SD is such a perfect watch in every way.
