I got my first Rolex at 18......................I got my last Rolex at 59.
When I was younger Rolex was hip & in & fab & gear, etc., etc.

So funny you wrote this thread, because believe it or not when I showed my friend a picture of my DateJust II with white dial, before it arrived, he said "It looks old-manish" ! I still am laughing about it.. I'm only 26 and I love it

Maxim isn't a 30 something professional's magazine. It's moreso for early 20 something kids, likely without any decent career prospects. No wonder Rolex advertises elsewhere. Sorry.

I hope Rolex is/does have the mature look to it, for older adults.

Young people wear watches?? Most of the young people I interact with use their phones to tell time. So why advertise for a demographic that has no use for watches?

Same here. If I wanted to pass my Rolex(es) on to my nephews, they would look at me like I am from another planet. They might sell them for drugs, though..... (just kidding, they're clean, well probably).

I thought that as well then I remembered the words of The Notorious B.I.G, "where the true playa's at? Throw your Rollies in the sky, wave them side to side and keep the ends high!"

They werent even 24 back then and knew rolex's were the staple of luxury!

My son is 22 and wears a Invicta Sub or a Omega Speedmaster "Racing"
When he turns 25 I will give him Rolex Sub.

Simple answer they dont need to advertise. I was speaking with a Rolex events organizer a couple of weeks ago, he's the one who puts up the Rolex clocks and advertisement boards at BIG sporting events. As he pointed out Rolex select the events that they want to sponsor, they dont spend loads of money buying out space at any old event.

Same in Bangkok a few years back I noticed that there was a watch show being held in a shopping mall on arrival I tried to locate the Rolex stand only to be told that they did not have one? apparently they dont feel the need to attend this event.

You are never to young to have a Rolex, all your mates will end up buying one later when their Breitling looks old and dated.

Long live Rolex dadadadadadaddada.........................

Excellent choice. You were right for not getting the Tag, as it would not hold its value.

Both my sons, 18 & 20 wear Rolex and we usually change around at least once a week. They usually stay away from the DD but love the Daytona, GMTIIC, Explorer, 14060, SD and plain old oyster datejust. The only people that rag them about wearing a Rolex are those who secretly want one.

Absoluty not just for old men. My biggestregret is not getting one when I was 18! But then I wouldn't have cherished it as much as I do now.

Rolex is an icon for lots of us kid when we grow up..and for financial reasons lots of us cant really affort to get 1 durin that age...so when we affort to get one (at least for my case) i'm at my 30s..hence the 'old man' as theres a lot of my friends who share the same situation as mine...but rolex has been improving it's looks from gold to stainless steels and from good old black to more vibrant colors through out the years to change people's concept....

I was under the impression that Downey Jr. wore a Bvlgari in the first Ironman. (an interesting piece with many retrogarde indicators) And the JLC AMVOX Tourbillion GMT in Ironman 2.

DannyBoy,

You know that's one thing I often forget about really well made stuff, even after 13 years of use it still looks good as new.
