The lugs are what turn me off. I prefer the old case. Since Rolex has changed the case size, I am now only limited on buying old case style Rolex watches. I'm trying to like the new case style, but so far, can't.

Seriously, this topic is quickly becoming the new "can I get my Rolex wet?" or "is it ok to wear my Rolex to sleep?" In addition, the poll is flawed, because there is not an option for someone (like me) that likes and enjoys both styles equally.

Well put!

It is just to finish with the "i like" / "i don't like" with everyone trying to convince everyone. My aim was to know how many: because if there is more "against" than "for", then rolex should not have done this modification. The answers, isolated, are subjective... Not mass numbers. The subject is closed, over, when numbers are out: that is a fact, not a rumor.
The flaw with your statement that uf their are more against than for making it a mistake is assuming that trf is a representativ sample. It is not. The vast majority of buyers never know this forum exists, and likely don't care. It would be more appropriate statistically to get he data from AD's. There are some on this forum that could likely give their impression of the average buyers thoughts on this. The AD I frequent the most definitely feels the subc is a huge improvement over the old and has a hard time selling any of the old style (last i checked they still had 16610 ln and lv, as well as no date models). I think his thread while interesting is trying to flog a dead horse. Rolex do not make quick changes. The supercase sub and gmt are hear for quite a while. Cheers.

Same here. Just sold my 116613. Thought the fat lugs would grow on me.
Didn't.

I always kind of felt that keeping the SubC's diameter at 40mm and just fattening up the lugs was a cop-out. From my point of view, to create a true "larger watch" you must increase the dial/movement diameter like on the new Exp2. But last August I bought a SS SubC anyway. In it's own right, not comparing it to anything else, it is a fine watch.

I like the wide lugs, since it makes the Sub-C look bigger, without sacrificing comfort. I've recently had a chance to try on a 41mm Hublot Big Bang, and it looked and felt actually smaller than my Sub-C. Even when I put them both on my wrist, I couldn't believe how bigger the smaller Sub-C looked than the technically bigger Hublot.

Currently the vote result stands at almost 50-50. It would be interesting to repeat this poll 10 years from now. I bet the ratio would then be more like 75-25, in favor of the supercase.

I think the new style is great. Heck, I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a DSSD.

The main thing, in my view, is that many of us did not have a long time to get to love the traditional sub, as we either got into Rolex a little before the new models came around or we arrived here when they were already out. This being the case, it is probably much easier to accept the changes and only look on their bright side. When a brand changes something that you had loved for years, that's a whole different impact, IMO.

Nicely put! I'm all about Old Skool, despite being reasonably young at 32, but I think what you say makes a lot of sense!

But Bah Humbug, all the same! Bring back lug holes!

I voted for the maxi. I have both but think the maxi is the future and with the maxi case we get the new clasp.

Don't think there will still be any supercase rolex left after 10 years...
Rolex have learned they made a mistake and introduced the new exp2 42mm...naturally without the supercase

Just curious but why would you think rolex would make all of their watches with exactly the same case? The sub and many others have not had the same case as for instance the daytona. The supercase is likely around for quite some time, I suspect more than the ten years you refer to. I find it very interesting that a small number of people on a forum feel that they know better than a successful watch company what they will or should do. If the sub c (in all of it's versions) and GMTII C were not selling well then I could see rolex making a change earlier, but they seem to still be good sellers.
