Joe Buck has that rare combo of being boring and a douche. He's part of the reason I lost interest in baseball.
John Madden in his prime with Pat Summerall was great. He's fallen off a bit with age. Gus Johnson is great. No one better IMO to convey an exciting highlight. Am gonna miss him on basketball broadcasts now that he signed with Fox Sports.

I really don't like listening/watching Joe Buck and Tim McCarver. They are the most annoying announcers ever.
Baseball: Joe Castiglione http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Castiglione Football: I like the breakdowns/opinions of Boomer Esiason.

The sports announcer who would always start out with, "You're looking live at..." is the best college sports voice figure. Name unrecalled...
Agreed w/previous post, Troy Aikman is a great sports broadcastor and appears to be a humble man, based on his stellar Cowboy career. I also like the main broadcaster/announcer on HBO's Boxing After Dark. Name unrecalled. He has an exciting voice. Kellerman is finally growing on me, inasmuch that I have to give him some respect, because he knows the sport of boxing... |

Me too. I also like Joe Buck.
In Mexico we have a sports caster (Mago Septien) who never ceases to amaze me on his knowledge about baseball, he's like an encyclopedia and an almanac all in one. He was born in 1916 and he's still broadcasting. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pedro_Septi%C3%A9n |

Bob Varsha, David Hobbs and Steve Matchett deserve a mention, because of their work in F1.
They're always a treat for me. In fact, since I killed my TV, they're about the only thing I really miss.
