This post makes no sense...
Unless he is aware his Dad collects/buys fake watches.

Regardless, we are pretty sure he has the real deal unless ....

Congrats on your gift of the Sub from your Dad and your wedding coming up this spring. If you are ever interested I'm sure you can find an original dial and hands from people who are into Vintage watches and have it restored!!!

I think you might have learned another valuable lesson.

AD staff don't always know what they are talking about and they have sometimes been known to play fast and loose with the facts.

very nice watch Nixen..I too was confused..

Be careful.. We do not use the "F" word around here..
I think that is what threw many off with this post..
THere have been many new posters with generic questions that seem to be scams..
Welcome and enjoy..

Ok. Just because I need to explain myself like a young kid to his dad. This is the whole story.

About 35 years ago, my dad had a rolex( I don't know what model it was unless you guys really want to know, I can ask him). His older brother which was a black sheep borrowed the watch from him and sold the watch without my dad's permission and used the money on his own pleasure.

After 10 years he repaid my dad with this sub without any box or papers. My dad never said that this watch is fake but mentioned that it might because Again it was given to him without any box or paper. But he had it serviced around 10 years ago which would suggest that this is not fake.

Last year, my dad gave this watch to as a bday gift. The watch was covered with scatches, so I decided to bring it to one of our local rolex dealer here and have it send to RSC to have it service. Not knowing the value of a vintage Sub, I asked them to have everything change so that it would look new. 2 months after I got the watch back I went to Geary's at Beverly Hills and was looking around. I don't know what are rolex policies and everything, and again this is my first rolex. I asked one of the associates if Rolex does give cirtification just to say that my watch is authentic. Again my first rolex and don't judge me. Ofcourse the AD said NO. He was looking at the watch and mentioned that it looked good and clean. I explained that it was just recently services about two months ago. While the AD was looking at the watch he said that it would be impossible that an RSC did the service because rolex does not change whatever the dial that is in watch unless they still produce it.

I never went back to our local rolex dealer here to clarify things. And since then I have been searching about sub 5513 here in TRF but couldn't find an answer. I wanted a piece of mind and was hoping that I have an authentic watch. I created a new thread asking for your expertise.

As of mentioning that I don't have enough funds to buy an expensive watch. Well, that is true but that doesn't mean that I should just sit around and wait for somebody to give away their watch. So I have saved up and ordered a DJII which will be here in two weeks. Just in time for my wedding this april. I will post some pictures once I have my hands on the beauty.

Again, the reason why I started this post it to ask help for your guys identifying if I have an authentic sub or a fake one. I never questioned my dad about the authenticity because I didn't want him to think that I'm not greatful on receiving one of the finest watch. And I did not start this post to sell this sub.

Starting this post answered my questions. So I'm greatful for those who helped and for TRF. For thise who got confused of this thread my apologies.
I am no longer confused! Thx!
