Two come immediately to mind: First, once I became familiar with Rolex around age 8 or so from reading my dad's manuals in his box, which I should have not been looking in, I saw the Blue tutone sub in the window of an AD and I knew I had to have that one some day. Over the years, I've seen the price climb 3-4x. Secondly, I think about the Day-Date function clicking to Friday + #, it just indicates that the wearer is so powerful/important that they need their mechanical watch to remind them the day of the week because their presence is required daily, no weekends! Maybe that is another reason why it is dubbed the "Presidential."

Over the course of time talking to various ADs the iconics are TT DJ, YG DD and black face sub - in no particular order. Whether these are your personal preference or not I think they are the most iconic pieces.

I disagree with many of you because i think that the Date just with jubilee bracelet is the most symbolic one
