I would go with the Daytona. Me and my cousin used to have a Honda CBR. We had so much fun with it. We get tired after riding for 20 minutes, fatigue is becoming an issue. I'm 32 and my cousin is 27.

Wearing the Daytona won't get you tired.

Here's my Wide Glide. I'd trade it for that Daytona in a heartbeat! Buy the Daytona and trade me, at least you'll be getting a mans bike.

Thats cool! Whatever floats your boat dude!... But, just my 2 cents... Ive never seen anyone get hit or crash riding a Daytona! Lol!! Sorry Dude! That just a fact! But the bike is way cool! I dont ride anymore after 2 different people And 2 different times pulled out in front of me and I flew over their cars! Just Lucky I guess! Everyone that rides knows its NOT IF... Its WHEN!

I've been riding all my life so I understand.. I have just the one Sub .. And 4 HD's...

Does anyone else find it ironic that most of the comments here are against a motorbike which is the very thing a Rolex Daytona was made for haha

Kind of like wearing a submariner and not wanting to go for a swim.

You're right (on the 2nd part). A Sub is for diving, not swimming at the Y, and a Daytona is for racing, not cruising on a Harley.

Which negates your first assumption... a Daytona is made for racing (automobile racing, to be specific), not for cruising on a motorbike. Although superficially similar, one has nothing to do with the other.

You can pick up a nicer, low mileage used Harley for $10-15k and have a lot more fun on it and lose less money on it than buying a new 883. Kind of like watches. Buys smart on the bike and have some fun this summer - better to have great memories riding than have a speedy watch that doesn't make your heart sing.

Sounds like the bike was not set up right for you or a personal conditioning issue. I'm 49 and did an Iron Butt ride two years ago, which is >1000 miles in < 24 hours, and I did it on my Harley. It was a great ride though some beautiful country in CO, WY and UT.

I still say buy a bike over the Daytona if that makes you happier and ride safe.

Bikes aren't my thing but I'm also not a big Daytona fan either. It's your money. Buy whatever makes you happy. Happy riding if you go that way and wear a helmet. Head+road = not good every time.

No... Not really...Try... 2 more wheels, GT tuned car and a 24 hour race track in Daytona.

Nothing wrong with a Sportster A lot of people started on them and still ride them for various reasons. As far as people calling them a girl's bike...that makes me laugh I guess everything from crotch rockets, Low Riders and Dressers should be called girls motorcycles because I see all types of girls riding these types of motorcycles

Is a Daytona or any other full size watch considered a girls watch because ladies wear them too

Keep the rubber side down and enjoy whatever you decide to spend your hard earned money on
Couldn't say it better! Enjoy what you like regardless of what others say. Whatever you ride or drive doesn't make you a better or worst man!

I was thinking of buying another bike for when I don't want my head down and bum up. I had a look at the local Triumph dealership who are also Harley.
I had a ride on the new Triumph Thruxton and the 883 Sportster you are considering. Both are great bikes for an easy ride.
I liked them both in black.

You could get run down by one while crossing the street (staring at your new Daytona).

Make your own decision Rani.

I should add that the cost of insuring a Harley (and any applicable annual taxes) is much more than insuring the watch so there's a higher secondary cost.
yup even id say go with the bike
