Mine comes from My love for BMW.
BMW is short for Bayerische Motoren Werke, Bavarian motorworks. The original was too long, I actually started with using bayerischemotor back in the day on forums, but everyone called me "bayerische", so I shortened it.

Fictional character (created by P. G. Wodehouse) I find appealing... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psmith
As for the Moorish symbol in my sig, which several people have asked me about... It is an ancient Moorish symbol which is supposed to bring good luck and ward off the evil eye. In about 1880, Robert Ormond Maugham (one of the founders of the British Law Society), brought it back from a trip to Africa. He placed it on a home he built in the French countryside. He died in 1884, at the age of sixty-one. In 1901, his son, the struggling young writer, William Somerset Maugham, placed the symbol on his fourth book, The Hero. The book was a flop. Later, Maugham realised the symbol was upside down. He turned it the right way up and became the most successful author in the world. He died in 1965, at the age of ninety-one.

I live on the banks of the river Numico where, according to legend, Aeneas landed and gave birth to Julia dynasty (with his son Ascanio, or Iulo). Moreover, my little nieces are called Gaia and Julia, as the greatest leader in history: Caesar.

I wanted Moebius, after the french cartoon artist Jean Giraud, but it`s way too popular to be available anywhere so I went with the first two letters of my last and first names instead.

I am a great fan of strategic warfare, Zama was the scene of the final defeat of the great Hannibal of Carthage to the Romans led by Scipio in the second Punic War of 202BC. After his amazing victory at Cannae, Hannibal and his war elephants lined up trying to recreate his "patented" pincer movement that was recreated by Rommel in WW2, Scipio was one of the rare sharp Romans and avoided the pitfall. A long and bloody battle but the defeats signalled the end of Carthage as a force in the Ancient world.

You don't have to tell us where your name comes from... it's pretty obvious.

I used to own a 2000 Jeep Wrangler and basically re-built it from the groundup to off-road/rockcrawl. I had it painted a bright orange and everyone just called it the pumpkin. Sold the jeep but have always used the screen name.

One of my most beloved dogs was a beagle/husky mix. She had the coolest attributes of each breed and the happy soul of a mutt. I still miss her.

The first part is a contraction of the town where we live. Actually, it's our post office address. We don't actually live within the city limits. But that's been the story of my life. When I lived in New Rochelle, New York, growing up, our address was Scarsdale, which was the next town over. Little did I know then that Scarsdale was a more upscale address than New Rochelle.
The second part of my screen name should be self-evident.

Well, we like to think it's a little bit of heaven just NW of the DC line.

It's a mashup of "chic" and "farmer," because I'm into luxury goods and I'm sort of a farmer, or at least it's part of my identity.

After reading all your threads on the handbag post I see where I was wrong on that!
