Well..I believe Rolex makes and sells the most watches out of all Higher End brand watches...of the five Vertically integrated watch houses (Rlx, VC, JLC, AP, PP), Rolex sells the most units, so one would be more apt to see them around. Moreover, I believe the the average price of a Rolex is probably the least of the brands I just listed. They spend the most on advertising and they also have the most counterfeits (probably because their styles have changed little over the decades - making counterfeiting a relatively cost effective venture)...so we are bound to see a lot of them around.

Brands like RM, ALS, etc have come up and had increased exposure among watch aficionados like us, so while we move towards filling our collections with more limited release watches, newer affluence enter the fine watch market with the first watch that comes to mind - ROLEX!!!

Interesting that I got a watch from the other brands before I finally got a Rolex a few weeks ago...guess I'm just a late appreciator of a classic...

I've been looking at JLCs lately. Great value and great history. Still think Rolex will always be #1 for me though.

I would bet that a lot of those folks have a Rolex in their collection, it is unavoidable, you gotta have at least one!!
Here in DC, almost every lawyer I know has one, so there!!!

Plenty of Rolex in Cali

Here in Orange County, I can tell you that there are plenty of Rolex but also Breitling, PAM, Omega, etc.

They're all good. To each his own.

Singapore is one of the countries with the most millionaires per capita. Given its high density, you are bound to see relatively more people wearing luxury watches than in other cities/countries. Since many well-to-do rich folks want to stand out from the rest, I guess they are starting to look at other watch makers like the AP, PP, etc. So I don't think Rolex is losing its hotness, but consumers are paying attention to other brands...
