An upside of a price increase is that our pre-owned will be worth more??

A Rolex AD here in Ho Chi Minh City told me that there will be a price increase in Feb./2012 but it never happens.

15 percent. I doubt it. American dollar is getting stronger by the day.

I remember an ask an insider thread on here... are there any AD insiders who want to weigh in on this?

Chris actually got a new job and is no longer working at an AD. I think if you go through that thread he confirmed that ADs and even the store to tore reps do not have information about price increases until the certified letter from Rolex arrives with the updated msrps. There are a few of these threads every week about "an AD told me there will be a price increase very soon" threads. I'm in no way saying it won't happen but if it does it's a coincidence. It has zero to do about someone "in the know"

As several have mentioned, it is usually a marketing ploy to sell more watches.

Seen these threads many times over the years.

However, at some point someone has to be right, I guess.

Eventually there will be a price increase... even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

It's confirmed...
I was in Tourneau (columbus circle) earlier today and they were in the process of re-ticketing Rolexes with the new prices.
Unfortunately, I didn't ask of any specific new prices.

Good call, Aziz!

It's rare for an AD to have reliable information so early, but I guess in all the world, there must be a few who possess inside information.

ADs have been predicting a price increase since last September and we've gone this long, so for myself, I am grateful.

I waited out the Fall increase that never came and got my 14060M for a May '11 price in November, after being told a dozen times the increase was imminent.

I feel good now!

I don't think anyone here looks stupid. Sometimes past performance is all you have to go by, but it's no guarantee of future performance.

Hi Grady;

Thanks,, i was sure my info was accurate because i knew who i got it from very well,, however it was a lose lose stuation with most of the guys here i would have never got anyone to believe what i said ...
Obviously Rolex dont send "the letter" the same day as most here claim since the letter was sent to all ADs on 21st May ...

regarding your purchase im sure you are now as happy with it as the day you bought it ,, maybe a bit more with the price increase

cheers
Aziz

Hey, I will admit I was wrong first if there is a price rise today (sorry haven't checked with AD). Maybe it works differently in different countries.

Good call Aziz.

and after tomorrow's Greece election euro might further weaken to record low which could make buying from euro-zone more cheaper
