The 36mm Datejust wears a heckuva lot bigger than other 36 mm watches.

Absolutely, in no uncertain terms, does a 36 mm DJ look undersized on a large guy. If your preference is for a large case, go for it Check out a 44mm Panerai for something larger than a Rolex. People wear those goofy big Michael Kors costume watches and you know what they look like? - goofy costume watches.

Sell the 36 mm DJ if it's not what you want, but don't trade if it's because you're worried others will look at it and think it looks small on you. Wear what YOU like !

I'm 6'6" 230 lbs with a 7.5in wrist and my largest watch is 41mm, my smallest is 33mm, they both look fine on me.

I had to use the extension link on the 36mm DJ. I tried a GMTII-c a while ago, fit my wrist perfectly without any adjustment or use of extension.

BLUF: Buy and wear what makes you happy.
Try on one of the larger model line (40mm, 41mm, and 42mm). You'll likely find one suitable for your taste. Or, go with other brands.

so I'm back w less sarcasm an I say keep the 36 for variety, get a bigger one and wear both so each time you put the larger one on it feels huge to you. plus, then the 36 is the classic dressy you can use for those formal times n church n hot first dates n etc...

I use the JLC Reverso for those occasions. But I am thinking of getting a GMT II-c, Sub-c or Daytona. As usual, it´s so hard to decide which one. And as a poor student, I can´t afford them all. :)

Hej Patrick, same hight more or less. I do think the DJ/36mm is on the small side but again that has it advantages at times when you need something more adult/educated. There is a time and place for everything.

Having said that, the GMTIIC is such a solid choice so if you could only have one of them, GMTIIC would be my choice easily.

I think the 36mm DJ looks great on you. I was going to suggest changing the bracelet to a Jubilee to make the DJ more of a dress watch than a sport watch and thereby more fitting for a 36mm, and also to add a little bling that you wanted. But flipping for the GMT was a great idea since you already have the Reverso as your dress watch. I have a GMTIIc and a Reverso, and they really cover all watch-wearing bases.

Looking at your wrist photos, I think the watch looks great on your wrist. However, once you post question on this forum, it means you have question marks on this watch. I wouldn't be surprise you will sell this watch and get a bigger one!

I couldn't agree more! I have a vintage lord Elgin gold dress watch from 1951 that I wear almost daily and I love it. It's small at 31mm, but hey if I like it I'll wear it, and like you I could care less what other people think. My wrist is roughly 6 1/2 inches and I think it looks and feels great!

I think rather than looking at a watch as too big or too small it is just a different look particularly if you have a couple(or more) different watch styles. I wear my 36mm Datejust generally for more formal situations and bigger sports watches casually. Mind you a Datejust wears well for most occasions and IMO suits most men in terms of its size.

Looks great on you from the pic but if it doesn't feel right to you then that's what really matters. You'll always be self conscious particularly if you think it looks feminine. It's probably time to think about a DJ II.

FWIW, I think from an observer's perspective the 36mm looked fine on you. A classy and elegant watch.

However, the more important perspective is how you think it feels. After wearing my DSSD daily for a bit now, it has unfortunately ruined me regarding most of the other Rolex models since they all FEEL less substantial on my wrist. I'm thinking about going back and wearing smaller models for a while so that they will feel more normal to me. Get what YOU want and what feels best to YOU. Sounds like you are happy with the GMT2c. Congrats!

I think it looks great on you, and I'd rock that size myself. However, I prefer the 39mm-46mm depending on how I feel. I'm 6'1 185lbs and have a 7 1/4 wurst give or take summer/winter.

Like everyone else said, get what YOU want. That's the nice thing about Rolex, you can ALWAYS flip them.
