Welcome to the first step of your 12 step plan: Admitting you can't control your iPhone addiction

Now hand me that 9-pin to 30-pin adapter

Same here. I preordered both the 3GS and 4. I didn't jump on 4S when preordering went live, but ended up reserving one at the Apple Store for pick-up the following week. Still a pain as I had to wait in line for a few hours even though I reserved one a head of time.

I'm debating between renewing my expired AT&T contract or wait until I can buy an iPhone 5 unlocked w/o contract.

Guess Apple spent all their time and money litigating rather than innovating...

It's probably unique to my account. Four phones with unlimited data. That is what I came up with when I used their calculator for the new plans based on my current usage.

Just for sake of those who want one right away - ordering on apple.com begins 12:01AM PDT on 9/14 - make some coffee tonight. Do the math for your own TZ. Shipments due by 9/21 for first wave.

Carrier sites (AT&T, VZ, Sprint, etc) will be able to do the same but don't know when they will ship.

If you like the lemmings line-up...and all that offers you...
Local Apple store sales will begin 8AM Local Time on 9/21.
No word on Best Buy in the article I read.

I have an iPhone on VZW and I am grandfathered in with unlimited data. I would like to get the 5 but I do not want to give up my unlimited data. I can't see myself paying full retail either. Looks like I will be sticking with the 4 for now. I don't use that much data, but would like to keep the unlimited plan so that I don't have to worry about overages. I wish VZW would accommodate, especially their loyal long time customers.

Incoming - took all of 10 minutes to buy one using the Apple Store App on the iPhone 4 I'm replacing. The Apple Store over the Internet is still not up here in USA via PC, though.

I placed my preorder as well. It went very smooth on the Apple store app. It wouldn't allow me to change shipping address during the checkout process. I am pretty sure that it can be updated once the order has been processed. Nobody is homs during the day, so I neex it shipped to my office. Now back to bed. I am on the east coast :)

I love the iphone 5 specially in white , still remains comfortable to use with one hand unlike android phones where the screen gets bigger and bigger and uncomfortable and the galaxy s3 has the most hopeless screen of all on which every color is oversaturated to the hilt , the plasticky feel of all androids except htc makes me long for Ip5 more and more

I still have unlimited data with a 4S also. They will give you 2G of data per month per line for the same price. If you're not one to use a lot of data, this is quite a bit. I'm on mine quite a bit and barely go over 1.5G. You also don't have to switch to the share everything plan either. Check your usage on line and see if it's worth it for you or not

Glad i managed to get in early, wanted to go for the White version, same as my iPad 3 but i apply Zagg shields to all & the Pad has already turned the shield yellow at the edges with the increased battery heat.

I expect to get the newly designed earpods on Monday.

For those of you on Verizon you will not be able to use the Voice and data function at the same time. Apple would not put in a third antennae in order to support this for the Verizon and Sprint network. But Samsung has included this feature in their new phones. Especially the Galaxy SIII . If you use wi fi with the iPhone 5 you will be able to use voice and data at the same time on Verizon.

Didn't notice if a pair comes in the iP5 box, but I've had these Sennheisers for months already and they are unbelievably good. One cautionary note to walkers/runners on the road - with any earpods that insert into the ear canal you lose peripheral hearing...stay safe!

I saw that Apple deliveries were up to two weeks so I just ordered through ATT's site; they are still delivering on the 21st.
