It is AWD and is included on all models.

If you went with a turbo cayenne you will hop into an SUV worth about 110,000. The turbo cayenne is supposed to be the fastest SUV made according to other websites. Turbo Cayennes come with a V8 like the S will, but gets you turbo. More things come standard in it and the display is in full color, opposed to the 2 color spedometer/computer.

Land Rovers are nice. My step-father has the LR3. It is comfortable and larger than the cayenne. It is built with 4Wd standard, and hydraulics to change the ride hight to make it lean left, right, forward, back, taller, or shorter. I didn't have the need for its off roading features, and my wife pushed me into the Porsche a little.

Yes, that's because in California you are PARKED on the freeway.

Okay usually base models are dogs, I wanted to check.

If you're sticking with Porsche, I would recommend this 4WD model:

I personally am not a fan of Escaldes, I would go for the porsche. But you have a choice of teh following also RS6,M5, or an E55 or S55. BUt I case coming form the UK, our cars vary greatly to those found in the USA. I love being in the states fuel is so cheap comapred to the UK. I pay almost $10 a gallon for fuel.

Porsche doesn't have a 4WD model, they are either RWD, or AWD. For modern ones anyway, and to my limited knowledge.

I stand corrected: AWD not 4WD.

Robert mentioned he was looking for on-road (pavement) traction in snow not for off-road duty. Given that, he doesn't need 4WD -- AWD will satisfy his needs well.

Unless he needs a Cayenne's cargo capacity, the 911 Carrera 4 is a very comfortable and capable interstate GT car that, when shod with the proper snow tires, will not leave him stranded in the snow.

That is, unless the snow gets too high, then it can get "beached"......or so they say.

Is the Carrera 4 the same as the Targa 4? And I have this thing called a 6'4" frame, gotta make sure I can fit.
