I'd get the older one for the darker dial, swap the old bracelet for the new.

I guess I'm still in the honeymoon stage with my classics not feeling the newer ones as of yet. I feel they are a little to modified for my liking. I'm sure the newer bracelets are a big plus though.

The old one is more beautiful. But the new one makes up for it by being too big!

The first reply nailed it for me. Even forgetting about the fat lug/skinny bracelet on the new watch, I just don't find the ceramic blue as nice as the old blue. The older watches had such a nice deep blue color - the ceramic looks flat in comparison.

Better bracelet and less nice color, or hollow bracelet and vivid blue? It's really too bad you have to choose.

I thought the same about the color until I really gave it a chance... Then the blue with the bigger indexes and white date wheel really sang to me.

Bottom line, both are cool- get what suits YOU!

I agree with you 100%. The new style blue growing on me, and the new bracelet is clearly superior.

Old one, colour is better and the whole ensemble oozes elegance.
New one is a bit clunky on the strap interface.
grail would be an old head / new strap . . .

If you buy new, your peers will think that you are doing well NOW.
If you buy old, they may think that you were doing well previously.

Buy new unless you are a collector or someone who like old school style.

Or buy new and your peer think you just became rich. Buy old and they may think you always been rich

For me, the old looks nicer, but the new has better features.

Forced to choose, I'd go with the new.

old one,,,the new ones colour makes it look cheap compared to the old one,,,but the new ones band is better forsure,,,the case looks kind of stupid to me,,,they should have made the face bigger and the band a little big bigger too then the new one would look better except for the blue

anyone think rolex will release the new one with the old colour? it seems that everyone likes the old colour better?

in regards to the bands,,im assuming the new one has more gold content? but i also read they have the same gold content?

I liked the deeper darker blue of the old better when I was trying both on my wrists. I liked the clasp on the new better.

Rolex have created a problem here. The new one obviously has a better bracelet and case. However, the new blue is absolutely horrible. I can't get used to it. The blue on the old model is a thousand times better. Therefore I would pick the 16613.
