Wow! First I was impressed by the quality of the work and the fantastic look. Then as I prepared for the onslaught of naysayers, I was impressed by our open- and like-minded brethren!
Very nice! Thank you for sharing! |

I have been in touch with Beau from ABC and will send them my 16610LV in the next days.
They charge $ 300-500 for the case mod which seems to be very reasonable for me. Beau was very open with his replies to all my stupid questions - I hope that they will be able to make the crown tube more flush and to keep the gap between the crown and the bezel, I am thinking about getting the bezel ring ground down a bit as well What is important to me was to find someone, who's done that mod before with such great results like we can see with the OP!. Thanks again for posting! |

I like it, I think it looks great, but I think crown guards are a good idea

Are you saying w/o the guards the crown can not be tighten down all the way because it hits the bezel. If that's the case why is that ? Guards or no guards the crown should be not be any diff. or I missing some thing ? At first I didn't like it but now I'm thinking of geeting it done, thus the questions .

If you check this pic: there is a maximum diameter if you want to have the crown-side perfectly rounded. To achieve this you must also shave off some material from the case where the crown sits. If you want to keep the original "beef" on the case, that part must be ovally rounded or pointy like this for example: So, as the crown tube sits "deeper" inside of the case, the crown may touch the bezel and to keep that distance, the tube must stand out a little. If the crown tube sits flush, the crown would touch the bezel when properly secured. I for my part would go the route to grind down the bezel to have the crown tube flush. |

I hate to admit this but I think it looks way better with no crown guards. Makes me want to go to the tool shed for the grinding wheel.

I like it!!
If I had one I would wear it all the time! Not very scared of hitting the crown. Most of us don't play football with our watches on. The crown looks fantastic! Huge, Big and beautiful. cool watch. |

I admire the craftsmanship that went into that but it's not my cup of tea.
I'll keep the guards on my 14060. I'm excited for you, glad you dig it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
