Nice 5513 Grant, I've yet to own one of these, but it's on the list. I could use a non-date watch, and the submariner is one of my favorite models of all brands... Congrats...

I have a 1675 GMT with the original dial and hands that are in excellent shape, but one of my peeves about the watch has always been not being able to read it at night. When I had a 2-tone GMT about 20 years ago I replaced the dial and hands, and that helped greatly on that watch with the visibility issue. At that time doing that conversion wasn't too expensive.
My current 43YO SS 1675 is now being serviced by a local watchmaker, so how much does the dial and hand combo cost, parts only from Rolex? If I did the swap I would certainly keep the original parts, but this might be a good time to consider it. |

Interesting thread and it actually made me pull the trigger on this...
My '72 gmt Master which I got as a frankenwatch, is now all correct but for a dial and hands. After lots of searching and not finding what I wanted, I found this thread and realized that since I want to wear it, I'd really like to be able to see it in the dark! And this is what RSC would put on it anyway, so I'm happy. As soon as it arrives I'll post pics of my finally correct GMT! Now I have to find something to do with the 1960 movement and rail dial I have left over... |

Purchased last month from a local watch store. It's nice. Usually not a fan of service parts but I like it for the price I paid. Thanks - love your 1675. Rich

Will Rolex send you back your original dial and hands.
For example, if you send in an authentic Red Sub and request a service dial, hands amd crystel, will the originial parts be returned to you? |

5513 service dial and hands on leather. Lights up like a pinball machine in the dark.

lights up thread..
I started this thread, and after buying, selling/trading Rolex watches on a monthly basis, I must say that this service dial/hands submariner 1680 is still a favorite of mine- perhaps because I can go into the dark garage and still see the time...
