Just too busy. cluttered, weird fonts. In-house movement or not. I would tire quickly of a Breitling. Just looks like a mall vendor watch. Sorry. Just me.

I agree completely, Breitling is not for me at all, the case has that weird POLO ASSOCIATION shine to it. I looked at a number of them, I would buy a fossil before I bought a Breitling

Not sure if someone else has mentioned this already but you should ask the members on breitling source. There have been more than a handful of members that have had varying issues with the B01.

In fact breitling has changed their warranty coverage from 2 years to 5 years due to issues.

I am not saying that its a bad watch just seems to have some issues. My thought is that since its so new that there are blind to be some issues.

Of the 2 you are asking about the Daytona seems to be more reliable.

OP did you end up getting it? My thoughts are that its too busy from the dial, bezel right down to the bracelet which is also the reason I am not attracted to Breiting personally on the whole as the designs I have seen all portray a sense of 'trying too hard'.

I prefer the transocean chrono with panda dial. That was my final contender when I was deciding between the Daytona and Brietling.

How can you go wrong with a Daytona and Chronomat 44 with the B01 movment in your collection? You can't! My two new B01 Chronomats are +1 sec/day with 72 hour plus reserve. The Daytona that has my attention is the Tahitian Mother of Pearl but I have never seen on in person.

It's now been more than a month since I acquired my Chronomat 44 and I have been wearing that and my Daytona simultaneously by switching each day and it's interesting that my Breitling has kept the time spot on whereas the Daytona has gained by about 2 minutes. Needless to say, Breitling may have stereotypical views here but when you get into their in-house movements, I think they are great watches. And I forgot to mention that Breitling also offers a 5 year warranty on all their models with their in-house movements.

I was in the ADs today, where I also met Chris the GMT Master, and the B01s do look fantastic. Im happy with my Steelfish now but might trade it for one someday.

As an addition to the Daytona, why not?? Breitling do make an excellent watch with the in house movement. This is a Rolex forum so you won't get much love for the breitling but it's an excellent watch and at 50% off retail you won't lose money on it 😉

Since you already have a Daytona it wouldn't hurt to add this chronograph to your collection especially at that price. I have the Chronomat Evo, TT. The only downside to that watch I can think of is that it is flashy, attracts a lot of attention (wanted and unwanted ;)) and so I cannot use it as an everyday.

The Daytona is perfect for everyday.

You need to have a Daytona. I LOVE the 4130 movement. It's one of my favorite chronograph movements next to the Longines 13ZN. The 2 I've had are very accurate, and durable.

I fear necro-posting ... but I feel I must on this thread ... because breitling seems to have received a bad rap in the past amongst the old school Rolex brethren. Being the owner or several Rolex (vintage and modern) and Breitling ... among other brands.

a few enlightened bits I want to share

1. Before Rolex produced any type chronograph ... MANY of our Daytona out there contain chrono movements made by Zenith!

2. The Breitling B01 Chronograph is cosmetically very similar to the Rolex 4130 chrono movement ... and RUMOR has it ... several of the designers of the 4130 Chrono .. also helped design the Breitling B01 Chrono ... this is why looking at both movements, they have many cosmetics similarities. Both have Column wheel with vertical clutch system chrono. Both have 70+ hours power reserve.

Why would I say the above?

3. Read this article and see how Tudor's new In-House MT5813 is based on Breitling B01 movement ... and at the end of the day ... who it behind the design and assistance of these movements? Rolex ... of course

https://monochrome-watches.com/tudor...hange-opinion/

4. The Breitling B01 movement is in NOOO Way to be compared with any of the previous family of movements that Breitling used for their movements (ETA & Valjoux)

I have 2 Breitlings. Love the way they look, but I can't keep them from becoming magnetized. Very frustrating. My Rolexes never get magnetized.

The one thing that ticks me off about the B01 is that you need to apply so much pressure to start and stop the chronograph. Not nearly as easy and smooth as others like the El Primero movement.

I have the 40mm version of the same breitling, one downside is no easy link equiviliant, another is the bezel, obvious number of clicks, would be 60 or 120, but I've seen on a previous review, its 84? which kind of hints at not looking sufficiently at the detail! Also unlike Rolex Two Tone, the gold parts are not solid.

I have a Daytona Black Dial 116500LN but I also have the Chronomat GMT with the B04 movement (similar in house to the B01). I was able to get the Chronomat at an excellent price, the Daytona is obviously worth way more, possibly 5 x more and I love it, maybe it’s a better movement I don’t know..... what I do know is the Breitling is exceptionally accurate, smooth to operate and is very impressive, especially when you consider what they can be bought for pre-owned.
I also have a few other Rolex models but it’s nice to have variety in any collection and the Breitling is very enjoyable to wear, the Blackeye Blue Dial on this model is stunning.

I own this model below .. The Raven ... it's a special edition model that references Edgar Allen Poe ... yeah, yeah ... it's not for everyone. Most new Breitling SE models have this display caseback, which is great to see the new in house movement B01/B04

Chronomat 41 (B01) I can only praise this watch

I went for the Chronomat 41 - so size is very similar to that of the Daytona. It has a date feature and a turning bezel, with the 300 m WR of a Sub. Polished steel is beautiful, while I've had the bezel brushed to tone the watch down a bit. Wear comfort is excellent, as is night-time visibility. As a blue-dial fanatic the Blackeye-Blue dial did it for me. I've been wearing this beauty for almost 5 years now, and this watch gains the most of wrist time among my collection, from tux down to the beach and XC-skiing, with no issues. I can only praise this watch, what a pity it is this size that is outta production by now.
Best,
Robert
PS: Photo is an early one, before brushing the bezel. Watch was on the very comfy Breitling mesh bracelet Ocean Classic, with an upgraded clasp. (Now on the Pilot bracelet, again clasp upgraded.) Enjoy!
