Terrible news. I hope it all works out. I don't have a safe and always thought I'll get one some day. Your story makes me think I need to do it. Sorry for your misfortune.

Sorry to hear about this. Your hunch about the cleaner could be right, to go right for the box and papers as well is odd. Maybe this lowlife had a weapon with him and your not being home saved you or wife from serious injury. Insurance will cover the watch but at least you both were not hurt or killed.

Dan,

Awfully, sorry to hear about the burglary and the loss of your goods. Keep you fingers crossed. The property and the suspect/s may turn up if your gut feeling is right.

However, this is only my opinion here, I would not post to much information about your possible suspect/s and the status of the investigation.

I'll send you a pm.

Regards,
Michael

That's bloody awful news, Dan, but I'm glad you and Andrea are all right. Life's got a funny way of evening things out, and sooner or later those lowlifes will get what's coming to them.

Dan, really sorry to hear about the burglary. I can only hope that the people that did this to you are caught and get precisely what they deserve. Let us know what happens.

Dan

My sincerest condolences and sympathies to you.

I truly hope that your insurance fully pays out and the police catch the guys whom have invaded your home.

I was broken into about 5 years back. The house was overturned and upstairs we found my vintage 6534 laying on a bed with all of the paperwork and box etc.

When the detectives examined the house they stated that the only reason the watch was not taken was the fact that my grandfathers name had been engraved on the back.

I was lucky, it sunk in how heatbroken I would have been if the Rolex had been stolen. That's about as close as I can possible get to how you feel I guess and in truth I felt awful.

My advice to anybody is to get a safe...they cost a few hundred pounds!!!

Again, Dan, my thoughts go out to you!

J
