After reading through this thread, I would be interested to get some thoughts or reactions to one of these as a possible option:

I'm all for original but there come times when after market band makes more sense. Like mentioned my original 1550 bracelet is not very sturdy nor comfortable, hence the replacement.
Btw I would probably never sell this watch so no harm done. ;) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Is your 1550 solid or plated? The bracelet that is.

Plated of course. No point having the bracelet more valuable than the watch itself. Cheers

Thank you. It looks sharp. I ordered a plated jubilee for an 18k datejust. $60 v $6000. Original may go to Michael Young at some point, but that and a NATO will do for now.

I wouldn't think you'll save much money selling a worn watch head with a never worn bracelet, when you factor in what you lose in not enjoying it yourself. However, being able to do whatever you want with your own property is what makes this all enjoyable. As long as you are happy and healthy wearing YOUR watch, more power to you, I say. |

I'm sure there is a decent mesh strap out there you can find some place.

I like to wear Perlon and Natos on my GMT if I don't want to show off too much.
I got them from WatchBandits. ________________________________________ Use "gmtfanatic" as code and get 20% off at WatchBandits, exclusive for RolexForum! |
