My Explorer is now 5 months old and I've just gotten past that "new baby, coddle" stage and now beginning to really enjoy wearing the Explorer... battle scars are revealing themselves now. Good and bad when it comes to reading threads like these but I've come to except that my Explorer will gain some sec's when working out, shooting, and everything else in life I do that requires my arms to move around and swing about compared to my 1120cal Omega SMP that is bang on accurate no matter what I do with it... +1 sec after one week and never experienced her speeding up after a little arm swinging action. Still playing with that Obsessive Compulsive Disorder excel sheet I got from another site and my Explorer averages about +3 sec per day.

Used to wear my Y/G DD while out running. As well as when I drove arctics for a living, which included roping & sheeting and dropping trailers etc.
All with no problems.

Ive found that that Running fast miles for multiple hours at a time is just more comfortable with a light/plastic watch. My current running watch is Luminox with the blue face, it's around 38/39 mm.
I used to use an ironman watch, but it don't really want a button pushing watch on my wrist; the simplicity of the analog watch with an external turning bezel does the trick for me...

It wouldn't hurt your watch, But I can't really see how comfortable it would be.

No watch for me, I enjoy the freedom of focusing on my workout vs worrying about damaging, scratching, banging my Rolex!

I see nothing useful in running with a Rolex. If you are serious about your fitness you would use the right tool, a Rolex isn't the right tool, as much as you can proclaim it's a tool watch.
A hammer is a tool also wouldn't catch me with one of those either. My Polar V800 is excellent for all my fitness needs, especially lap swimming. The durability of the watch isn't really an issue although I can imagine excelerated wear of the bracelet. |

Personally I would never wear any of my nice watches when running on roads or trails. I'm not concerned about any shocks from the running itself, but more if I were to take a nasty fall and badly damage my watch. That is what an Apple watch (or in my case, my Tom Tom sports GPS watch) is for!

The only time when I don't wear it running is during ultra marathons and running at night on the trails. The sheer exhaustion makes falling more likely, thus I won't. |

Thanks lol, I still consider myself slow, but I'd be happy with that pace during my 100km ultra this fall. Not wearing the Rolex then, that's indeed pushing my luck

Can’t believe this 10 year old thread has been bumped, lol. I never wear any of my watches during gym time or physical activities etc. I personally would wear a G Shock for that.

I run with my LVc. I owned one from 2013 to early this year and had been running with it for a few years. I recently got my second LVc after having flipped the first one. I’m running with the new LVc also and plan to do so in future.
However I ran with my GMTc a few times and it stopped working. Had to bring it to RSC and they changed a spring. It worked fine after that but I never ran again with that watch. Maybe due to the GMT complication it’s more sensitive (?). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Mine is just 3 months old, we'll see when it needs a service. Running this much might prematurely wear the rotor axle but I don't care, easy fix anyway.

For what it’s worth, I have jogged, mountain biked, and surfed numerous times with my SD43, and thankfully never had an issue. Most of the sports models are built tough. I expect my watch to accompany on my adventures and physical pursuits, and my Rolex watches have never let me down.
