The ideas for new threads never stop to amaze me

I have only thought about who gets them if I'm hit by a truck so I'll have to think about it

My 14 year old gets the new DJ (and she will promptly sell it for a vintage Les Paul or Stratocaster)

My 6 year old daughter gets the old Thunderbird DJ

My 10 year old gets the Ball Conductor because she adores the tritium lume just like I do.

And what do I get to sell for a vintage Les Paul?

Based on where I live, probably the first person to find me lying in the street!

As an aside, a question for you clever folk...should I have used the word 'lying' or 'laying' in the statement above?

Typically, lying would be used as it's related to a voluntary act of a person. But as I would be dead and therefore it is involuntary, is it therefore laying?

No sorry.
Verbal contracts no, but then nobody has spoken, so as it's been written, it's binding.

My favourite thing about this post, is that if the title was 'BAM! You are hit by a bus today, who gets your Watch?' it would be moved, but because it states Rolex instead of Watch, it's all good in the Rolex area.

Genius.

I might start a thread entitled, 'Should I cut my grass this evening? (I shall be wearing a Rolex)'. Any takers??

Takers of your Rolex or your task to mow the lawn? If the latter, I'll pass...

You'd probably get hit BECAUSE you weren't paying attention to the bus instead of the watch.

"Lying" as in "reclining." "Laying" is "placing" and takes a direct object: "...laying down my weary head in the street."

All written contracts are verbal. Spoken contracts are oral.

My Datejust will go to a buddy of mine in the Army who for some reason always expressed admiration for the watch. He probably has 8" wrists, though, so I'd better leave the spare links someplace obvious.

Nobody.....the bus will get the worst end of the deal because I'll just hold out my left arm and let my 216570 take the full impact!
