A confident man wears a gold DDII, and a confident man doesn't care if people tell him it's an old man's watch.

I understand where the OP is coming from. I don't think the DD2 was on my radar in when I was in my 20's and 30's but I suppose as my tastes changed and I became able to actually afford one, the DD2 is definite must have.

Enjoy and wear in good health!

I think if youre around 30 youre old enough. 18 year olds in datejusts....eh I dunno about that one.

Only archieluxury thinks they are old man watches lol

It's a more conservative design compared to a yg sub. But I don't think it's an old man's watch.

The DDII is a great watch and I hope you are enjoying your watch!

I had an interesting conversation with an AD store manager about metal color of a watch. His store is an AD for about 7-8 Swiss watch brands. He mentioned the YG metal tends to be more popular with a older group of men and white metal (SS, WG, Plat) watches more popular with a younger group of men. Younger and older are relative terms and there is no limit as to who is considered old or young.

However at least for the Rolex brand, WG doesn't seem as popular as a YG. Someone who knows about Rolex will never mistake a DD or DDII in white metal for being a SS watch as they don't come in SS. But to the general public, a white metal watch definitely will be less noticed than a YG watch.

Since most of my accessories (belt buckle, cuff links, etc) are white metal, almost all my watches are white metal. But I see no reason why a younger man in his 20s and 30s cannot wear a WG DDII if he chooses to.

I don't think the DDII is an old man's watch at all. I am 30 and have my sights set on one, but RG probably black dial. The larger size is more sporty and youthful imo and I like how it wears on myself.

I can't lie though, I think the older generation trends toward YG and when I see a YG DayDate (not DD2) I think old man's watch. No offense to all you Tommy Bahama lovers out there. Not saying it isn't a classic, it's just not MY style.

In a conversations with an AD store owner he gave me some sage advice, "Buy pieces that build your collection." I'm not a flipper by any means so when I buy something I intend to have it a lifetime and I like this watch for myself now and I believe I would still love it in 20 years time.

I don't think of any DD as a old man's watch...I do think you have to be older to pull off wearing one with diamonds.

It is a watch that is not typically seen on younger folks. Perhaps it is due to the price tag :-)

DD is a classic. Like classical music, or Renaissance art, it can be appreciated by any demographic.

Because so many were gifted as retirement awards or 25 year service award, perhaps they gained a top-heavy installed base among people who had grey hair.

But not an age-dependent model IMHO.

I can see the perception...but IMO no. Such a beautiful watch. It's all a matter of style really and you can have any type of style at any age.

The DD and DD2 are simply stunning. For myself, I'd only wear the RG with chocolate dial or the WG with black....it's just personal preference mate!!

22 here, there is no Rolex I want more than a rose gold DDII.
Too much money for me though so a yellow gold DD would be great, but I'm not sure if it would fit me. TT fits me very well but I believe a yellow gold DD would just be too much. Not sure though.

First I must say, My hat is off to you for being so young and having a YG DD!!! Good stuff !!

I think it is all about how you wear it, if the watch fits your attire, then it is all good!

Enjoy the beautiful watch!

Thank you all for your views...after hearing u all out, it has put some confidence back into me and I've decided to stick with my DDII YG and not trade it in with a YG Sub or GMT. I like it thats why I got it in the first place, so I'm gonna stick to it. Heres are a few pictures:
