How "loose" do you wear your Rolex watches?

Rolex advises that their watches are watches and not bracelets. They advise wear them comfortably fitting to your wrist. Loose watches, sliding around and up and down on the wrist are those who go in for fads.

It seems a lot of you folks like it tight enough to just slip the tip in.

Wear a Rolex snug (especially with a jubilee bracelet).

Snug enough that it does not slide over the wrist bone easily. My DJ 41 needed no adjustment at all (no fiiting required for my 8 inch wrist). Like Cinderella’s glass slipper

I wear a Sub with glidelock, so I wear it however I want, anytime I want. Its pretty awesome.

My GMT is way too loose. But I just can’t get it right.
I can easily go back to the AD and make it too tight again..
But after 3 tries, add a link, take a link, micro adjust, blah blah blah, I just realized my wrist must really swell/shrink during the day.

It’s me. Not the watch. But it’s a drag.

But, I can’t stand it snug. So loose is better for me.

Ive been there. My Only two watches on bracelet are the sub and pelagos.
Both offer excellent adjustability.

Part of the problem are that watches are becoming so heavy that they want to move around more, thus making the Glidelock more useful. The GMT IIc weighs 50% more than an old GMT 1675 with the rivet/folded links bracelets.

I recently bought a folded links bracelet for my Date+Day, and it’s so thin, flexible and lightweight that the watch stays put, while the whole thing probably doesn’t break 90g. It’s hardly the steel handcuff you see nowadays, and it’s more comfortable than even my 5-digit watches, let alone a 6-digit.

Quite right.

However the market has dictated the evolution/metamorphosis to the current designs.
It was akin to a arms race where the manufacturers were competing to improve or maintain their market share.
I remember the days(not so long ago) when Rolex watches were criticised for having pressed metal folding clasps. Especially when compared to Omega offerings.
Rolex went a step further to design what we have now and the criticisms all but went away with the exception of the DSSD where the bracelet is not big enough to be pleasing to the eye according to some circles.

I like mine snug and loath the jabroni's that have them dangling off their wrists.

Snug enough so it doesn't fall to the sides of the wrists.

Many times I see watches on the sides of the (outer) wrists and I could imagine the
bangs it takes on the table among others.

I like mine on the tighter side simply because of i'm too paranoid about banging my sub up against a table/desk/door etc.

To each his / her own, but to my eyes a watch worn so loose that it appears to have been unsized just looks tacky - like the wearer felt that he was somehow getting less value from it if each and every link was not in use

Pretty snug, rolex crowns are sharp as all hell and when I wear a watch loose the crown smacks the back of my hand and makes it very uncomfortable. .

I wear mine fairly loose because I need it to be able to move around or my skin literally rots under the watch head.
I can't fit any finger in under the clasp other than my little pinky with some resistance and the watch positioned with the most slack above the wrist bone, but the watch can still just slide above and below the wrist bone depending upon how hot it is.
With this perfect setting the watch doesn't really flop around the wrist much.

It's a product of my wrist shape and it's worked perfectly for me for the last 40 odd years

Loose enough that my wrist can breathe in the Florida heat, but as tight as I can to prevent unwanted banging on everything I touch, ie. relatively tight.

About half a centimeter loose. Tighter feels uncomfortable to me. Looser will cause the crown to dig into my hand which is unpleasant and I really dislike the dangling look with watches, the way some fashion models wear them as if it was a bangle.

What drives me nuts (not really) are when watches are worn loose and the wearer plays with them all the time. Spinning it around, up and down the arm. Basically can't leave it alone.

I like mine with just a little movement. Not so much loose, but comfortable. and please correct me if I'm wrong, but I hear the new glide lock bracelet wont stretch as much as its predecessor.

New member here. I was just curious as to how others were wearing their watches, on the tight or loose side. I was wearing my mine on the loose side, almost like a bracelet, but found myself constantly flicking my wrist to keep the watches in a comfortable position. Prior to reading this thread, I adjusted all 3 yesterday and can now just fit the tip of my pinky just under the clasp. Much, much better for me. Just have to feel how it fits when the warmer weather comes.
