Apple iPhone 6 announcement today!

The battery life of the 6+ is a strong point.

The trade off is harder to use one-handed.

But if you choose to get the AppleWatch then you could do 80% of iPhone work via the watch and Siri.

iphone and iwatch

1- As for the iphone 6, I have been disappointed with the durability of my iphone 5. Battery life started depleting after 8 months, and I have gone through several screens. I am on the fence about the 6.

2- As for the iWatch, I don't have a use for a wearable electronic device. I see lots of apps coming out that will provide lots of information, but I don't necessarily need to see the information on my wrist. I've been using my iphone less, and I think I am actually happier with this change.

3- Also, I thought I read that Microsoft is targeting this market segment for the iWatch... (....joke....)

I may go for the 6 in March, 2015, when I become upgrade eligible unless I just decide to keep my 5. I have no need for the really big screen and the 5 has served me quite well for the past 16 months.

Thanks Matt, I'll book mark this thread. I'm going to pick up the iphone 6 plus
my eyes need a bigger screen

I upgrade every year.

Happy that for the same price I will be getting 64gb instead of 32gb. For me that in and of itself rocks :)
Looking forward to getting the iPhone 6 4.7inch screen 64gb when it comes out on the 19th :)

I wasn't around to view the presentation this afternoon. The pic of the apple watch is nice. I know the new sizes of the phones, but can anyone list the width of them? I'm mainly interested in the 4.7" size & want to know if its the same width of the 5. I wasn't wowed to switch from my 5 to 5S. I have to read why the 6 would be a reason to change. ;-).

Well damn, I completely forgot that I am not eligible for an upgrade. I really don't like the idea of paying $700+ for a new phone (plus, I'm hoping to buy my next watch by Christmas so I have to save ). Oh well, I guess I'll wait for the 6s and I'll get the Nexus 6 this year to hold me over.

Thanks Jeff. There's a bit of a difference NoW that I've seen the side by side. I don't see any outstanding reason to change my 5 to a 6. I'm going go to wait till I see then in the raw. They did away with the 32 gig size. I'll keep reading about the new offerings. Who knows, I should get my name down for a new one then figure it out when I get a call. Lol

The new iPhone 6 is hot! I am definitely upgrading from my 5S to the 6. . My wife will get my hand me down iPhone 5S. Preorders start this Friday 9/12 (assuming the usual 12:00am PST/3:00am EST time), for deliver Friday 9/19. I will definitely be setting my alarm to preorder.

Like I said, specs aren't everything. Apple falls behinds in terms of raw power, but how everything is integrated is top notch. iOS is more polished than Android. Only stock Android is comparable to iOS, but it still isn't as refined. Hopefully, Android L will be more polished.

Every year people say that. I wait for the next one each year as well - I've had every iPhone model on launch day so I see no reason to change that now. 6 plus for me please!

Not to mention the rampant malware on android. That alone keeps me from ever using it.

That's true.

On my phone, I really only broswe TRF and a few watch blogs. I don't know how likely it is for me to get malware, but I do have some free software that looks for it.

Hey Judy, have a look at the Z30 blackberry. Before you laugh, seriously it's a beautiful phone and has a 5" screen which puts it right in that sweet spot IMO. It also runs Android apps.

I know bb has taken a beating but this phone is perfect IMO, and for security, you have to look no further. Just my 2

Exactly the reason I sold my HTC One (m7) and went back to the iPhone.

I haven't but I know that Sony doesn't modify the OS too much. The same goes for Motorola. Samsung is, by far, the worst offender.

I'm probably going to order the 64gb 6 today. conveniently, one of my kids dropped my wife's 5 last night and shattered the screen. Guess who is getting my 5s while daddy gets a new toy?

Went with the standard 6. I've used my friend's Note 3 and it's too big for me. I've owned 4.7" phones in the past and it seems to be about perfect for my taste. Currently using a 5c.
