Eveyone loves DJ's and DD's.....just no one talks that much about them because they aren't hard to get or rare.
Yeah I know that Rolex comes out with some hideous DJ combination every year as special editions, but those aren't nearly as sought after as SS Daytonas, GV Milgauss, and GMT2c's The fact is that if you wanted a classic TT DJ on Jubilee, you could walk into almost any Rolex dealer and buy one at a discount. Thats not a bad thing, just they are super popular and thus more common and less talked about on the forums For the record, my TT DJ gets more attention from non-watch people than my SS Daytona. The TT DJ is more "bling" and more what people visualize when they think about an expensive watch. The SS Daytona gets more attention from other horo-mongers (i don't know if that is the right term) since other watch people know how hard it is to get.... Enjoy the DJ, they are true timeless classics !

Certainly a classic -- pretty much the same since 1945. That may be part of the dimished excitement. I know I look past them when in an AD. The woman's models still nice though.

The DJ is a very flashy watch if you get it with the classic fluted bezel... even in SS. I feel like a lot of people feel uncomfortable with something that shiny on their wrist. Think about it this way. How comfortable would you feel walking out on a lazy sunday in the Summer wearing a nice, black Armani suit? I'm certainly a little biased, since I have a DJ, but I can say I purchased it because I think its more in the "jewelry" category than "timepiece". While every Rolex is certainly both, I wanted something to wear with casual clothes, as well as a suit. You can't do that with big-faced chronograph watches... it sorta looks silly (no offense to anyone with them, they are still great!!) Further, not a lot of people can pull off wearing something flashy on their wrist. I know they say more people buy DJ's, but honestly i've seen more sport Rolexes than DJ's. Either way, it's in the eye of the beholder. Don't get a watch b/c of its popularity, as pop-culture soon fades. Trust your own judgement b/c you are the one wearing it!

Personally, I love the DJ!
I have owned two 16234's and one 16220. I plan to buy the SDDS, but after that - as soon as I have the funds - I will buy a DJ 116234 like this one: (Source on pic).

The DJ is my only Rolex. I think it is the best of the Rolexes. Also, the 116200 has a lot of enhancements compared to prior models. However, all of the DJs are great watches.
