I always wear one of my Rolex when travelling, either my Exp II or GMT IIc.

"People who are likely to rob you will look at your face before they look at your watch."
Maybe for a nano second, but if they rob and steal for a living your Rolex will command their attention. Your possessions are what they are interested in, not your face! |

Yes they know what a Rolex is generally, and if you're an American they will not assume your Rolex is fake, they will in fact assume the Rolex is real. Assuming that you are safe because you think they think your watch is fake is ridiculous. Just like other parts of the world ther are places you do not wear it and most other places it is fine. Let me add as an aside that to characterize 'Africa' in any way is virtually impossible because the continent is so vast. Only the Continent of Asia is larger. Westerners tend to attempt these characterizations of Africa based perhaps on what they read and see in the movies regarding a few places which indeed can be pretty dangerous, and I am often asked if I don't feel at risk with my job. To which my gentle response is, to ask that is like an African reading about a murder in Detroit, and based on that deciding the U.S. as a whole is too dangerous a place to visit or live. The U.S. is 3.8 million square miles, Africa is 11.7 million square miles with 53 separate countries (including the six off the coast such as Madagascar). |

Rolex (all models), AP and Hublot everywhere I go in SE Asia, Middle East and North America. Africa is country dependent but generally a Corum or Panerai.

I have worn a Rolex (DJ, Sub, Daytona) virtually everywhere on earth (an entire career in the Army) and in many bad areas.
Never had a moment's worry. But I've been called cocky. I'm not, just aware of my environment. |

That is funny and sad at the same time! I know many people from the Gulf wear fake rolex especially when traveling abroad. I see them in London all the time walking around flashing their fake rolex watches that are usually paired with cartier bracelets! i feel sorry for them because they're attracting so much attention from muggers!! |

Both my watches have a GMT function, that's why I bought them as living and working abroad I need to know home time too.

Depends where I am traveling. If I know it is not a safe area then I usually wear an older pilot watch and take 2 NATO's and swap them over when one gets dirty.
But usually my SubC as its my everyday watch. |
