The listing of the 16750 is still there when Orchi last checked... 1. Look at these images posted in the listing... i) The markers are NON-Rolex Originals being altered n stuck deliberately on the Dial(believed to be once Matte Dial) by using GLUE!!!(triagle markers of Matte Dial is longer just above the Rolex coronet)...6 n 9 o'clock markers(believed to be Seiko parts) are too BIG n FAT to be Rolex original parts...! ii) At 2 n 6 o'clock markers...the top of the marker edge show signs of it being 'GLUED' ON also...similar to the rest of the round markers(NON Rolex)...! iii) ALL markers are RE-Painted... iii) The hands are clearly seen as being RE-Painted...also. YET...the Power Seller claims... "This is a black dial vintage GMT-Master "Pepsi" transitional is its original, untouched condition." "Dial: Original black dial in good condition - untouched and original - aged to match hands" iv) Here the clasps n the bracelet links are FAKED NON-Original Rolex parts... YET the Power Seller claims... "Band: Beautiful Rolex solid and heavy oyster bracelet. 11 links. Will fit wrist of up to 19cm. Excellent condition with reference 78360 and end piece reference 580" v) Here the inner surface circumference on inside of the backcase...just above the 'Montres Rolex SA"...clearly show sign of abrasion with the winding rotor which has a loosen rotor shaft... vi) Here on the image of the movement...the edges of the movement frame show sign of friction against the same bad winding rotor shaft... YET the Power Seller claims... "Working Condition: Yes Serviced: Yes, freshly serviced Comments: Pepsi Rolex GMT with Oyster band in original condition" Note: Images n item descriptions were taken from eBay listing of a 16750 GMT Master watch... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA:IT&ih=006 Note: The next pictures were taken from a genuine 100% Rolex 16750 GMT Master...n other genuine Rolex WG Gloss n Matte Dials for early Ref 16750...that are "DATE"less. |

Orchi:
Thank-You for putting all of the work in describing the issues with this sale. I reported this to E-Bay and placed a link to this posting of yours so they can see what the issues are. I have reported this more than once but suspect that they are in a quandary due to him being a power seller with so many sales. I suspect that they will pay better attention with all of the work you put in to this posting. Terry Newton

No I did not. She has 100% rating and I believe she thinks it is real. I told her it is a fake and all of the details that make it a fake. I gave her 24 hours to voluntarily pull it or I will report it.

I sent them a link to an actual picture of this women's watch with the sodalite dial. There is no comparison. This is a piece of junk.

As far as the sodalite dial it may be genuine. Look at this version of the men's and let me know what you think.

Err buddy Terry...here's Orchi's 25 thousand Dollars question...!
In this eBay listing...the so called Rolex Moonphase Ref 80816...is highly possibly FAKED...! Note: The above pictures taken from... http://cgi.ebay.com/GOLD-ROLEX-TRIPL...QQcmdZViewItem As little as Orchi read...Rolex had never used a Lemania or Omega type of chronograph Caliber Movement before... Just look at the movement's 2 pcs of harness retainer screws...attached to the watch case...so flimsy! Pictures of Lemania Cal.2310 n Omega Cal. 321 are courtesy of: http://www.ninanet.net/watches/other.../mlemania.html |

This is an actual moonphase Rolex from the 1950's and the movement looks nothing like the watch that is listed in E-Bay for sale.
http://www.trocadero.com/Aben/items/404372/en4.html There is this chronograph in the same sales place that shows a movement much like the one in the E-Bay sale. Someone who knows the vintage Rolex models needs to pipe in over this one. http://www.trocadero.com/Aben/items/.../en3store.html It could be genuine or it could be fake. Please look at both of the watches and let me know what you think. Terry Newton

Well from looking at those pictures the movement seems genuine but the dial doesn't seem to confirm to similar older ones.
Very difficult to say, needs an AD authenticity check. |

When compared to this one in the UK it looks fake. This one here states that it is officially certified and states Rolex Perpetual. Plus the crown on the dial looks better on the UK site. I'm continuing my search.

Closest i could find to the ebay pic (regarding the watch on right):
Sadly the pic isen't very big so its hard to tell differences but dial color is different, seems it also doesn't have those blue numbers on the outside ring like the one in this pic. On second looks the dials are completely different actually |

Here is another moonphase watch from the UK site and it also looks like it has a better crown and states it's officially certified. I'm more inclined to believe the one on E-Bay is possibly a fake. Rolex seems to have the trademark of officially certifying their timepieces and this one is not certified which breaks tradition.
http://www.thewatchguru.co.uk/Vintag...ches.asp?pn=12 Finally, here is the last one from the UK site which also has the certification. http://www.thewatchguru.co.uk/Vintag...ches.asp?pn=13 Terry Newton

To me it looks like the dial of this:
Mixed with this (one on right): Equals this: Crown is also bit off to the right and is between the two windows. In the 2nd pic the rolex crown is below these two windows and also seems more centered. I think were closing in on FAKE! Terry |

I agree; all of the one's I have found have the traditional officially certified chronometer stated on the dials. They also have a gold crown applied to the dial instead of the cheap looking black imprint that is on the one that is suspect.
I am so convinced now that I reported it to E-Bay with links to all of the watches I found for comparison. Good work and thanks for the help. Thank-You Orchi for bringing this to my attention. Terry Newton

Dear rusty974, dont waste my time - cg416 This is a fake, hands down http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...id=p2761.l1259 his latest email... Dear rusty974, this is real do not threaten me or i will file a compalaint if you dont want to bid dont - cg416 Oh yeah don't forget he never answered why it has the plastic wrap around the bracelet like a fake does. He still can't give me any info about the serial number.. Dear rusty974, that is why it is up to 910 why dont you go to rolex and pay retail stop wasting my time - cg416 I asked about the plastic on the bracelet just now

Here is further proof that the moonphase listed is a possible fake. He claims his model is Rolex 81806. In Antiquorum there is a Rolex Moonphase for sale that states these were:
81806, only produced as a prototype, according to Rolex correspondance dated Aug. 22, 1986. Similar watches are published in "Collecting Rolex Wristwatches" ... Here is a picture of the one listed by Antiquorum that is estimated at fetching $120,000 - $150,000: http://www.antiquorum.com/eng/brandi...ionid=165.html Notice it also has the officially certified chronometer rating on the dial and looks like the pictures I posted earlier; not like the one on E-Bay. I feel confident in the reporting of this sale to E-Bay. Here is another example in E-Bay that is a fake and being sold similarly as the other auction. I will report this one as well: http://cgi.ebay.com/Rolex-Triple-Cal...06071253r19912 Terry Newton
