This is my current trio! Still on my realistic wish list are a YG DD40 w/ diagonal check and stick dial and a WG Daytona w/ meteorite dial. I got both the YM2 and BLNR this past spring and need to try hard to not go buy the other watches on my list, which is exceedingly hard while browsing this forum

The price of the PM models makes them useless to me; I would prefer to have stainless models personally. For me I would choose a Sub, a GMT, and a Daytona. Certainly the PM models are for many unobtainable but for me they fall into jewelry and far from the origins that makes Rolex great. I have a 14060, 16700, but no Daytona. That is my current end watch for my collecting. The Tudor Grantour does much to fill the roll in my collection that would be filled by the Daytona. I recognize that these aren't new Rolexes but truthfully I seem to like the older ones more.

Poll Results So Far
#Votes Platona - 15 BLRO - 14 Other Daytona - 10 Other SS/TT Sub - 8 YG Sub - 7 Smurf - 5 SD - 5 Polar Exp II - 5 YG GMT II - 3 RG YM - 2 Other YM - 2 **** Based on this Poll so far, the Holy Trinity of Rolex Sport Watches would be (Drum roll please): 1) Platona - Chrono - PT 2) BLRO - GMT - WG 3) YG Sub - Diver - YG **** Mission accomplished... Top votes still are 3 different functionalities, three different PM's and all awesome! Note1: Sub votes were split with TT and SS, so YG Sub still got 3rd place Note2: There were many "other" Daytonas voted for but again votes were split and there was not one standout, except Platona of course. |

Personally, I think the YG Sub is stunning, especially in blue. I like the Smurf a little better, but it was a close call. Also, I have to admit, I do have a little bling in my blood... |

Holy Trinity of New Rolex Sports Watches?
If PM was a given. WG Sub, BLRO and platinum DD2 (probably with ice blue dial). That may change as YG grows on me. But for today, all Rolex trio, that is it.

Smurf, YM II YG and GMT. Blue, white and black dial. It is gold so you have two yellow and one wg. If new YM came on RG bracelet, I'd lose the YM II in YG although I love the size for your collection. Maybe Smurf, YM II YG and Sky Dweller in RG if money is no object. Do sky dwellers count as sports models?

I do want a white dial... YM II YG and Skydweller are beautiful but not really for me... But I like your thinking. For white, I am thinking eventually a Patek 5711 with a white dial, not a Rolex and not a precious metal, but precious. |

And you are absolutely right. (AIR) GMT watches were originally designed for pilots showing local and Greenwich Mean Time (the zero point on 24 hour scale of international timezones). (SEA) The Submariner is certainly a diving watch as we all know. (LAND) The rolex daytona was designed in 1963 dedicated to racing drivers (right off Rolex.com - so no need to put a question mark there). I suppose you could add Yachtmaster to cover a boating watch for on the water (where Submariner is a diving watch for under water). For Four watches a Holy Quaternary with four different PMs 1) WG SubC - Diving/Underwater 2) YG GMT II - Pilot/Air 3) RG Yachtmaster - Sea/Boating 4) Platona - Racing/Land (or Use YG SubC w/ BLRO - maintains all of the above) |

116509 WG Daytona with black face
116719 WG GMT II BLRO pepsi 116600 SS Seadweller Ceramic Why these? Not a fan of the platona due to the weight The BLRO is the best looking GMT of them all IMO Must have a SS dive watch in the collection

Perfect trio: WG GMT BLRO, YG Day Date 40mm, WG Daytona w/panda dial.
Holy Trinity: The above 3 where all their crowns are aligned perfectly vertical. |

i would go for a YG, PT, RG and skip the WG. :) but sadly, the only platinum available among sports line is daytona, and no RG available on the others.

I think there has to be at least one SS model
So I'd go- - hulk - WG pepsi - RG Daytona |
