That's wrong especially coming from a trusted seller with plenty of references as stated by the OP in the initial post. And then to alter the year and send the watch with a date that is in the future? Sad to see this happening here.

I would think by now the seller should be aware of this post. It would be nice if you stood up and responded to the OP concerns instead of him naming you.

Whether the seller altered the card themselves or not doesn't matter. The seller should not have sold a watch with that card. It's concerning that they did.

Who is the seller?

Great thread! It sure is obvious the date has been falsified. We should really know who produced this. I have bought from several trusted sellers without an issue, but this looks bad for whoever produced this.

Who is the seller?
x2. Agreed. Surely a 'trusted seller' would recognize this as suspect and try to inquire further from his/her source. But certainly this shouldve been disclosed by the seller.

I still fail to understand why people hesitate so much to name a trusted seller when there is an issue but we run to the the BBB, Yelp and Google when there is a hair in our $5 sandwich.

The truth is everything creates awareness.

Positive feedback, neutral and negative feedback are all equally important.

I've added "warranty date scrutiny" under my to do list.

This may have already been covered but perhaps the AD did NOT swipe the card, hence the odd post date?!? I see both sides but I know that in the past, this community has reasoned for a need to know regarding dealings such as these. OP, good luck, I hope it works out for you.

I need to know the name of this trusted seller. It is possible it is no fault of the seller, the AD messed it up, however due diligence is required from the seller. After all this is a $10K+ item. I would check everything 10 times before shipping.

If you keep asking questions on a purchase, then it is telling you it is wrong. You will never be 100% happy. I would return for a full refund on the grounds that it is not what it seems or has enough reasonable doubt on the date alone. Send it back and lets hope that no one else gets caught with watch.

We should put up a new subforum for the sleuths on here. We could call them RCIS - Rolex Criminal Investigative Service.

Looks altered to me...you can see where the "5" was before the year was re-traced. Nobody draws a "6" like that.

Ouch. Sorry to hear about this. If this was sketchy, wonder what else may be. If it was the AD or the trusted sellers, makes no difference as something funky is going on for sure.

Just hope it isn't repackaged and resold to another unsuspecting person.

For me, something that costs this much has to be free from any and all indicators of fraud.

Good luck.

What if the original AD had genuinely wrote the date as 2015 as a genuine mistake forgetting it was 2016, it can happen if not concentrating.

That said, why it is 24th April 2016 when we are still in March is very suspect on its own.

The seller must be revealed and account for this. I'm certain there is another side to the story.
The date is obviously tampered with and it inconceivable the seller did not know it. IMHO.

I am correct in saying this??
Rolex is VERY clear in stating that a warranty is VOID if the warranty card has been tampered with. I once received a watch with the original buyers name erased off. I called RSC NY and they told me that this is OK for them. BUT, if the dealer stamp or the date are messed with - it will not be honored.

Ask for $600-$900 discount and if the watch checks out, all is well.

Otherwise, return postage paid and let us know the name of the seller.

i would return it and have the seller cough up the funds for shipping. it looks pretty clear that it has been altered. also, OP needs to reveal the name.
