Those who own a Sub with date and without date

i love the cyclops, can never remember what date it is, cyclops it's iconic (almost like the crown), screw the symmetry.

Bought the 114060 no date. Loved the balanced look but couldn't deal without the date and sold it.

I own the sub no date because it's cheaper, initially I was going to get an Omega and by stretching my budget abit more I could get a Rolex

not a fan of complications after owning a GMT Coke (which was beautiful) but having to go thru several gyrations to set the two times and date - so the no date sub was the "un"complicated watch for me

also a clean look without the date

I still grab for my phone here and there to get the date (lol) but I wouldn't have it any other way

No date all the way. Nice clean look. I don't like the cyclops. Friends who own one say it's a pain at months end always adjusting the date.But this is an opinion only. If it helps, in an earlier poll the no date won out as the preferred choice.

This. I find myself reaching for a watch for ease of setting for this reason - especially when I'm in a rush, which is often.

Unfortunately, I don't get to fully enjoy my gmt function for this reason.

Anyone who thinks the date takes away from the "symetry" of the dial is trying to justify their decision.

Date. I very briefly considered no-date when I bought my Sub ($1k less..), but no way! Got to have the Date and the Cyclops. It's how the Sub was intended to look and operate.

Uhhh...you realize the original Sub had no date right? They didn't add the date until 10+ years after. So you're factually incorrect.

I've had both and plan on re-aquiring a no-date to go with my BLNR as I find the date sub too similar to justify having both. If a one and only watch or only Rolex go with the date version IMO

This may be true to some first entering the world of Rolex but there are plenty of people out there that can easily afford either and choose the no-date

Disagree. The Cyclops window isn't appealing to many of us. It's sort of like a pimple on an otherwise-flat surface. Some like it, some don't. I think anyone willing to shell out $7500 on a watch isn't going to be swayed by $1000 more if the date model is what they truly desire.

First one i got was a cyclops. Now I want to add a no date for the symmetry and updated design. You can't go wrong either way. But, it's an extra grand for the date. You can go on several good dates for that

I love looking at the clean dial of my 14060M. Although I do feel the itch for a sub-c date.

I like the date myself, I have never had a no date sub but I have a ss Daytona and when I wear it, I miss the date function.

It was the early '90's, I had grown tired of coming to on the decks of live aboard dive boats, and once again not knowing what day it was. Sub Date solved my delema. Had they only had GPS back then I would have also known where I was.

Way too muchand diving back then.

that's a ridiculous statement. Check the forum it's a 50/50 between date/no date so it's not all cost a decision.

Nope.

A cyclops attracts dirt and oil around the edge on the crystal which is a pain to clean. No date comes completely clean with a quick rinse and towel dry.

Unless you have a Skydweller, The date needs to be adjusted at the start of every other month. A no date sub, explorer or OP can be grabbed straight off the winder and worn occasionally without adjustment.

Finally, I know I'm in the minority here, but I find a watch that tells me the date without the weekday utterly useless. I always have NFI what day it is, and it's generally just as important to know that today is Wednesday as it is to know it's the 30th.

All 3 subs I had, had a date. Only way to fly in my opinion.

it is easier to reset the time without the date when the watch stops. I have other watches in rotation...

Without date, I enjoy the symmetry and classic look... plus who cares what the date is? Is the sun shining at the beach; now THAT is important to know :)

Also, I prefer not having to change the date and account for AM/PM. Just need the time, thanks :)

Was so used to my Day/Date, that when I decided to add a Submariner to mygroup of watches it too had to have a date.
Now, if they made a Submariner Day/Date I would be first to have it ordered.
