Just wear and enjoy the watch. When you feel it needs a little TLC then have the center links brushed and see if you like that better. Personally light scratches are to be expected...

What I do is get another watch until I forget about the scratches and then I go back to the one with PCL. Enjoy your BLNR Carlos!

Brush the bracelet, if you want to sell in the future I'm sure it could be re-polished?

I like the PCL on the GMT and they are easy to take care of. Bad scratches use 4000 grit wet or dry sand paper and polish with Flitz light scratches just Flitz. Some times in work I put a piece of tape over the clasp, granite surface plates are very unforgiving on any bracelet.

Hmmm....interesting how many people can't stand the scratches on PCL that never bother me.

If you service your watch regularly, it will get refinished. Most of time I'll just wait for service term to come.

If PCL truly bother you daily, you can remove your watch when you do desk work to prevent your bracelet getting scratches.

I have noticed myself when I type, my wrist is like playing piano. My elbow rest on desk but my wrist never touch keyboard, laptop or desk. My PCL has minimum of desk wear marks.

For me I'll just wear my PCL watches until service time and have them taken care of then. Life's too short to worry about them. I guess there is always the duct tape solution but the glue can be worse than scratches on the bracelet.

It will hurt at first but fight through it. After a couple of months you will start enjoying the scratches. Every scratch a memory

I've never cared much for the Polished-Center-Links.....
I'd probably have them brushed

The deeper question to me is......
Some of you guys would even consider buying a nice watch, then stuff it in some safety deposit box, out of your sight & control, while traveling....and buy a CASIO at some cheesy gift shop.??????

I've worn Rolex watches EVERY single day & night of my life for almost 35 years....working, traveling, sleeping, playing, etc....24-7-365....
I've traveled to dozens of countries, and been in situations that cover the spectrum.

The LAST thing I would EVER consider would be REMOVING my watch from my arm & sight.

Great photo of the BLNR on Everest.

I am really liking this option as I can wear the rubber strap on both the BLNR and the Hulk.

Which is why I need to figure out a way to psychologically not give a darn.

The Ctona is the one watch I dream of keeping forever.

Wearing a watch shouldn't be stressful. How much do you like the GMT apart from the PCLs? Do you use the GMT function? If you like the watch otherwise, I'd brush the PCLs and give that a try. Otherwise, perhaps try a different SS sports model like an Explorer II or a Sub?

I have a 116710LN and a Daytona so I know how easily the PCLs can attract hairlines. While it bothered me at first, at some point I no longer cared because I knew there was nothing I could do to avoid scratches - nothing. Now I enjoy wearing them and don't worry about the scratches.

Also, to me it is easier to "put right" scratched polished surfaces than it is to refurbish a brushed surface, if you care about the grain of the brushed surface. Think about the brushed lug tops on a 14060/16710/16610. Very few, if any, people outside of Rolex can replicate the angled brushed lines. I am far more "stressed" about scratching up that brushed surface on my 14060m than I am about attracting some hairlines on my Daytona.

You are welcome.

I wore my BLNR for 11 days in Europe earlier this month and never once looked closely at the bracelet. I was too busy enjoying my trip and using a GMT to tell time.

Well said. I'm only at 30 years of Rolex ownership, not your 35!

Very well said.

Agree with suggestions to buy a Sub bracelet (used or new), and use that instead of the original BLNR bracelet, which can be saved and used later if desired.

Since you already have a Hulk, just use that bracelet for both watches. Invest in a Bergeon 7825 and changing bracelets will take you 60 seconds.

#1 Option is to brush out the PCL...

I'll say that because I prefer the look on the BLNR...

But...

While a few well placed scratches and dings are extremely annoying...the look of PCLs that are worn and swirled is kinda growing on me on other watches...(Daytona, DJ2, etc)

this is ingenious.... never thought to do that....
you get the best of both worlds....
Sub on cool NATO as it should be
and BLNR on brushed glidelock bracelet

Does the sub bracelet fit onto the BLNR exactly?

I would replace with the glide-lock, keeps the original as is and you can always go back if you change your mind...

OP, like you, I have no use, whatsoever, for PCL. To me, they have no place on stainless steel sports models.
