I see 3+ Daytonas per week on strangers in HK.. in last month I've seen SS (both dials), YG, RG and WG. No platona, though.

A few weekends ago, my friend brought 5 of her cousins (aged 19-23) to a party and I noticed all of them were wearing Daytonas. I think it's a common graduation gift here

Rolexes in my part are fairly rare. In the past 2 years, I've seen a sub (think it was a 16610, think I might have seen a SS Pepsi, a 36mm DD, and I just saw some guy with a TT Daytona with the panda dial.

So I guess you could say it makes up 25% of the Rolexes I see...

Totally agree with Paul, no question the biggest collection of Daytona sightings on any one day is at a race track for sure !!

I've never seen a Daytona on someone's wrist, save one time at a family party in Atlanta. Dallas is Submariner and Datejust country.

There's plenty of it around. But not as much as DJs and Subs.

bizarre as this sounds, I think I see almost as many of them as I see Subs (around NYC and in airports!)

Also in Seattle and I concur. I've seen one Daytona and that was on a plane. I do see a bit of DJ's and Subs on the plane. There is an older TSA agent that has a 1675 though.

I agree that Subs and DJs are more commonly seen than Daytonas. Of course here on TRF, we see Daytonas all the time.

I feel Subs and DJs and to a lesser extent, GMTs are worn by many people who are not WIS. But to own an Daytona, you are most likely a WIS

I am in Hong Kong for holiday now. Already here for 7 days. I only see 1 people wearing a 2 tone black dial Daytona last 2 days in MOKO shopping center. Other than that, I didn't see any. I have been traveling to Hong Kong for the past 2 years. I hardly see people wearing, and I didn't see it display in any AD here. If it is very common here, i would said, it is the least common sport watch.

If in Japan. Yes, I always see it in people hand.

Wonder if most of them are even authentic? You'd be surprised how many are fake.

I will say that since being on TRF I am always looking at people's wrists,
so yes I do see some Rolexes in the wild, but not many Daytonas...
(Not sure if anyone is weirded out by that)...

I have to check back into this thread -- on Tuesday I saw no fewer than five(5?!?!) Daytonas. A TT, 3 SS and a RG. Mostly while strolling along Queens Road between Sheung Wan and Garden Road.

As a % it was still uncommon, and I saw dozens of Rolex GMTs and divers on the same day. The curious thing is that most people here still wear watches. Not necessarily a luxury watch -- many wear Seiko, Swatch or G-Shock -- but there's usually something on people's left wrists

I've only seen 2, i went to pickup a pizza at a local mom and pop style restaurant about a month ago and noticed the bosses son wearing a white dial ss, complimented him on it and it seemed like he could care less. I was in Ikea 10 days ago and sawa woman with her husband both sporting rolexes, he had a 16610 and she was wearing a white dial Daytona.

While less numerous than DJs and Subs, I see Daytonas not uncommonly in SF and on my monthly trips to Europe
Daytonas and other nice watches spotted in airport lounges

A watch is a good way to show your personal choice...and the Daytona seems to say 'me too.' Mind you, as very few 'normal' people know what any of these watches are, it probably doesn't matter one bit.
Just ask any ordinary person what a 'Daytona' watch is. They won't know what you are talking about....I doubt they even know what a Submariner is. They probably will think that Rolex makes the 'best' watches. But that's all.

I see them every day, along with PP, AP, and RM in my office building. Even in the airport lounge today, RM and Daytonas.

I've actually seen quite a bit, they could've just looked like Daytonas though. Maybe because they're so expensive compared to other SS Rolex, that if you just wanted to have the name Rolex on your wrist you'd go for something else. But for me, behind Subs and DJs, I've seen more Daytonas and ceramic GMTs compared to others.

It really depends where you are, I recently saw a gold Daytona for a split second while parked at the traffic lights on a nice lady in a drop top in a posh part of town, and in the diamond district I will see 2/3 Rolexes and APs just strolling down the street.

I'm in sales at a Ferrari dealership, and I could close my eyes and throw a rock and probably hit a guy wearing a Daytona most days! I also see tons of Hublots. Oddly far fewer Panerai's than a decade ago, and the Patek's I see are usually yellow gold heavy complications on much older clients. Very rare to see a Nautilus or Aquanaut. Lately far more Vacheron Overseas Chrono, which is really growing on me. Decent number of Tudors as well.

Was in Vegas last week and saw a bunch of RG Daytona's in the wild. I even saw a white Daytona C in the wild. I noticed a lot of nice watches in Vegas.

Ps Go to Pebble Beach and the race track in August during the concourse if you want a high concentration of Daytona's in one place.

Just saw one a few days ago. In my neighborhood there is this one random antique/ luxury store with lion statues and crazy elaborate couches. I've never seen anyone in there, but I saw the owner bringing things out and he had a black Daytona. That was the first I've seen in person.

The only Daytona i see on a regular basis is a fake worn by my kids friend dad. But I am always reminded how awsome it is and can't wait to own the real deal.
