I went black because the original was black, and that the floating hands is what did it for me (like the original). Although the white face does make the black hands stand out as there is more contrast, the white face made the orange "Explorer II" look faded.
The orange "Explorer II" on the black face is clearly legible. This is becoming an age-old discussion (similar to the black vs white Daytona discussion). There is no right answer. Go with your gut and your sensibilities. The watch face that speaks to you is the correct one (aka, don't overthink it... go with your first impression). If you want to add a twist, wear each watch on your non-dominant wrist. Wearing a watch on a wrist that you are not accustomed to to seeing a watch gives you a much more objective view (that's how I select watches...) -Sheldon

I took the black one since it might be my one and only Rolex. Plus I have s relatively small wrist. Although i like the white one, it gives bigger presence impression on the wrist.

Take a look at every post in the 216570 owners thread and go with the one that sings to you...

My logic is simple. If it is your only Rolex - then buy Black(as it is more versatile). If you have multiple watches already then get the White(as there is nothing out there in the market in white dial which beats this watch). Good Luck!

There are lots of gorgeous black dialed watches. Many fewer white dialed watches. For that reason alone I'd buy this gorgeous white-dialed one.

I truly love the white gold and phantom effect of the black dial. This is why I have chosen it.

Polar for me. The orange GMT hand on the white dial looks superb IMHO.

Your first big mistake is to ask for advice from strangers on a forum. Someone will say black and the next person will say white. Every response is nothing more than the preference of a total stranger. Your best bet is to take the advice of someone who knows you, has good taste and who is more decisive than you. In other words, let your wife or girlfriend assist you in making that decision. She will almost certainly be right and it's her fault, not yours, if you choose incorrectly. Regards Mick |

White all the way. Love love love mine. 216570 is one of the only sports models where you have a choice in white. Can go black with another model, another time.

Another reason judging from the previous answers to go for the black one is that it is going to be a collector's item in few years !

White dial for sure. You can always buy a black dial and have it swapped out at any point later on. I've got white its stunning I know it was right decision for me anyway. Good luck. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Had both. Sold the white dial. (Not sure why it's called the polar)
Kept the black dial. By far the better one. |
