So LBJ didn't "build" his own team in Miami? Lebron is the most calculated businessman in the NBA. He is all about the LBJ label and LBJ branding.
His return to Cleveland was just as calculated. With Kyrie already a rising star, and the Love trade already in the works, he knew how much of a "built" team he was coming back to.
Everyone is riding LBJ at the moment because of his bringing Cleveland their first championship in decades, but don't think for a moment his return was all about winning for Cleveland, it was more about winning for Lebron.

Like sports. Attend professional athletic events on a semi regular basis. Have favorite teams and players but never understood why anyone cares that much about player movements for whatever reason. It's a business. I don't buy tickets with the proviso that the players must stay put for the rest of their careers. Who cares what his real or imagined reasons are for going. Is it better for him to stay but not be motivated?

Any Lakers fan who lauds Kobe for staying a Laker till his retirement either is a late bandwagon fan, or was clueless to how close Kobe was to being traded (WITH HIS BLESSING) to the Chicago Bulls in 2007. The only reason the trade didn't go thru is that Kobe wanted to play with Luol Deng, and the Lakers were insistent that Deng be part of the haul they would receive from the Bulls:

And while LBJ was vilified for the poor way he announced he was leaving CLE, few were calling out his decision to form a Miami Heat super team after he went to the Finals 4 straight seasons, and won back-to-back titles.

I'm a GSW fan stretching back several decades, and I spend a considerable amount of money every year on my season tickets. Certainly, I'm biased about KD's arrival. But at the end of the day, he gave 9 years to the OKC franchise. He knows that he has only a finite number of games/seasons left in him, and OKC's future is hardly set with Russell Westbrook up for free agency next year. While I thought that KD would play one more year with OKC, then leave as a 10 year vet eligible for a super max contract, he obviously felt that his chances of winning a title are better elsewhere, and he had to act now.

KD (and the Warriors organization) knew the fallout was going to be sizable. At the end of the day, KD wanted to improve his chances for a ring as an integral piece of the team (and not a "rent a player" at the tail end of his career, chasing a ring before retirement set in). Most any of us, when presented with a better working environment for a company that we knew had a better working situation, would leap at the opportunity to change employers. KD made such a choice. It's not a fairy tale ending for him as of yet, but a couple of championship rings will more than soothe any misgivings he has about his choice to leave OKC.

And if anyone needs a choice pair of seats at Oracle Arena for games this coming season, feel free to ping me. Attached is a pic of my view of the Dubs winning Game 5 of the 2015 NBA Finals.........

I would think you'll get a lot of pings. Count me in- great seats. In earnest, credit to you for being a long time GSW fan. There can't be too many that go back decades; probably just after Nate Thurmond and company. They were an exciting team with Mullin, Hardaway and Richmond.

You'd be surprised. Despite the Warriors bumbling for so many years (save for the Run TMC era, then short lived success with a rookie Chris Webber and later the almost as short lived success of the We Believe roster), they've had a surprisingly diehard fan base here in the Bay Area. I still remember attending all 5 of the 2007 home playoff games, which were the loudest sporting environments I've ever personally experienced. My ears were literally ringing for 24-36 hours after each game. Baron Davis' dunk over Andrei Kirilenko in the 2nd round of the playoffs was the loudest explosion of sound indoors I've ever heard. It was a huge mosh pit in the stands after he threw it down.

My earliest memory of the Warriors was when they had Lloyd Free (later to legally change his name to World B. Free) as their primary scorer, and Clifford Ray was on his last legs of his career. A few years later, Purvis Short and his high arcing rainbow jumpers along with the walking/running disaster known as Joe Barry Carroll led the squad. Dark days indeed.......
